After searching the archives on dry skin and not finding what I was searching for, I decided to ask here hoping someone will respond with an answer.
I have a female friend who was born January of 56 who has a problem with dry skin. As far back as she can remember, she has always had dry skin. The skin cracks on both feet and hands (mostly hands), and especially in winter. Her hands are very sensitive. Detergents and other cleaning agents burn her hands. She has tried everything–regular hand lotions, even the most hypo-allergenic, burn and sting her hands. She's tried the calendula and olive oil concoction too. Nothing works. Even if it takes the dryness from her hands, it doesn't keep up with her splitting skin. She's dieted to see if any certain food group, such as wheat, affected her dry skin.
Also, she washes her hands constantly, so that she doesn't get sick, so that might be drying out her skin.
Any remedies offering help to this problem are welcome.
Thank you in advance.
