Exclamation

My 5-year old daughter has developed an impetigo after 2 scratches from kittens around the mouth. The lesions look red inflammed oozing golden clear liquid and crusting when left in the air. The lesions develop in 3 stages: First from the cat's scratches, it made two big patches, second, new red pimples on other parts of the face appeared, then third on her abdomen, about 10 circular red patches that also oozed clear liquid. She had no fever, was tired more quickly, lost appetite, no thirst, but was quieter than usually. No restlessness or anxiety (as far as I can tell although we were travelling when she was diagnosed with impetigo). She was given staphylococcinum 30C, 1 dose a day, and streptococcinum 30C, 1 dose a day. She also had a 3C Hepar SUlfuris several times a day. But the lesions kept on growing and reached the third stage described above. Because she was very itching she got RhusTox 30C, and we gave up on Hep Sulf . My question is: should we antidote it? I am concerned that a low potency had a the opposite effect on lesions and promoted them instead of healing them. ALso, I kept on putting some calendula+hydrastis diluted mother tincture on compresses on her face first to keep the lesions disinfected, and prevent her from scratching with dirty hands. At nihgt I would also put some calendula ointment on the lesions (to help healing and also prevent crusts from sticking to the gauze): Is it a good idea? It has been 10 days since we noticed the first scratches, and she has been under treatment for 5 days. It is not healing much...a couple new redpimples are showing every day (on her leg now). How long should the treatment last before we see an improvement? Or are we not using the right remedy? I am also concerned about marks left on her face: is graphites ointment a good idea? any other suggestion?
Thank you for your help (This case was treated by an homeopath over the phone because we are out=of-states)

Just got rid of Impetigo with a 5 yr old boy overnight with a couple of doses of Ant. Tart 6. I had tried the Ant. crud. first with no change!! We were also using Echinacea tincture to dab the spots with. IMO it is better than Calendula.

All the best.

kaelle,
I disagree with this method, improper and hasty medications. If it started after cat's scrathes? at first we can give one dose of ledum.
now the stage is changed and you have given many medicine with frequent repititions.if it is hepar only one dose of it is necessorry.Too many doses will bring about more and more eruptions.so you can consult a hompath personally .Treatment of impetigo is very simple.complication arise only when we go in complicated ways.
with regards,
pannakkal

Hi Panakkal,

With the correct remedy, how quickly would you expect to see it gone?
On the other hand, when would you know that you haven't got the right rx? If you don't see improvement after a day? A couple of days?

Ricky,
What do you mean by "overnight". Drying up and not producing more.

I know, I know, it's all individual, but I'm just curious to hear what your experiences are.

Thanks,
Karin

hi Karin,
the eruption described above or eruptions like impetigo,or bullosa will cure with in a week to ten days.In my web(www.pannakkal.com) under section 'skin 'you can see a picture of a child with impetigo bullosa(before and after treatment).it took only 10 days with a single dose of Hep Sulph 200.
if you are repeating again and again more and more new eruptions will appear ,by proving or disease aggravation. The best method is one dose and wait.It will not complicate the case.
Repetition depends upon case.
with regards,
pannakkal
