hello everyone,
I am 22 years old and i have acne since 13 years of age. it is all over my face but tends to be less on the chin and forehead. I used to have alot of acne on the back,shoulders and arms but that has gone away. i don't know how or with what. but thank god it has gone away. I have tried everything from over the counter medicine to chemical peels. I am just extremely fed up with it.
I recently started going to a naturopath who also specializes in classical homeopathy. I started going to him about few weeks ago. First he did a hair analysis and urine test in which he found that i was lacking alot of vitamins and mutrients. He also found that i was under alot of stress, enough to aggervate my acne. I beleive he did a throughly exam and he does not rush me into eanything.
About my acne - it tends to flourish around my period, before, during, and afterwards becuase i get painful periods. I tend to get alot of cramps, i do faint just before my period, and i am very moody around my period. I am also very angry as i hate getting my period.
Overall i am a very happy person but my stress and anger comes from my constant battle with my acne. If i wake up and my face looks good then i am happy but as soon as i look in the mirror and it does not look good i get very angery and stressed out.
I get mood swings, i used to be a very stubborn person but not anylonger, i have a hard time dealing with stress, and i get cravings of sugar when i am stressed, angery, or depressed.
He asked me alot of questions but i just can't remember.
anyways he had me on detosode d.o/s for the first week, second week biosode bio, and the third week i am not sure as i am still in my second week of taking the medicine. He eventually wants to put me on nut mar but he thinks i should take these medicines first as the hair analysis test revealed that i have alot of metal and other toxins in my body, he thinks the nut mar is going to work better if i cleanse my liver and other organs before starting nut mar. HE says nut mar is going to absorbed better by my system. I don't know how much he is going to put me on. The detoxosode and the biosode, he has instructed me to take it 10 minutes before or after meals. He also put me on a multi essential fatty acid complex. I took the detoxosode and take the biosode twice daily, one teaspoon.
i would truly appreciate any help from anyone, anything you need to know feel free to ask.

As you have said you are seeing a naturopath!!! What you have been given so far is NOT homeopathy!! However Natrium Muriaticum (Nat Mur) is. Make sure that what he gives you is a single dose of a C potency and if he is Classical that is what he will do. If he gives you a liquid dose in an LM potency this is fine to take daily - succussing (or banging) the bottle each time before taking.
BTW I had an acne patient who was completely cured of her long standing acne which only Roaccutane had ever got rid of with a dose of Nat Mur 200 repeated only once if I remember rightly.

i will post what my naturopath decides to give me as soon as possible. I hope he decides on what you recommended. The detoxosode and the biosode he said were homepathic medicines. Even on the bottle it said that it was homeopathic. Anyways, how soon do you think i will see the results and will my acne get worse before it improves. another qustion for ricky,

is it ok to take homeopathy medicine with other supplements and herbs. if so how much time should i give in between the homeopathy pills and supplements. My naturopath said that i should wait atleast 15 minutes before and 15 minutes after taking the homeopathy to continue on with anything else either eating or taking supplements. do you agree?

No, Ricky is absolutely right. Your naturopath has not had enough training in homeopathy to know that "detoxosode" and "biosode" are NOT homeopathy. And I daresay, your naturopath is doing all homeopaths and patients a disservice by not knowing this.

These medications are cheap combination remedies. They have never, ever been put through a proving process (so that we know exactly what they do in the body) and all we do know about them is that at best, they are suppressive; and at worst, they are very damaging to the body.

If you want homeopathic treatment, seek out a well qualified homeopath--one who has studied homeopathic medicine for at least 5 years--not someone who, in the course of their training in using everything but homeopathy, took a weekend long seminar or attended a 4 month long course at one point during 4 years of training in naturopathy. The only naturopaths who have actually studied homeopathy to a level of competency are the ones with the letters ND., DHANP after their names.

The best way to tell who's good and who is not is to familiarize yourself with exactly what homeopathy is. There's a great little book available on-line which spells it out clearly; go to www.demystify.com and click on the link "the book on-line". Its a quick read, but you'll learn instantly just how much your ND doesn't know about homeopathy.

If you want to do a lifelong regimen of dietary restriction, vitamin supplementation, and herbal remedies to control your acne, stay with your ND and limit his treatments to these areas only, as that is where his training is.

If you want to seek homeopathic treatment for your acne and cure it, seek out a qualified homeopath. Toronto has many of them, and I will gladly recommend some to you.
