Default Severe laceration

Hi,I've just returned from vacation and my dog has had a patch of hair, skin & flesh torn off behind its ear. About 1.5x2 inches. I can see the ligaments moving his ear! He does not seem to be in pain but surely must be. Apparently, three days ago he had maggots in the wound and his head was swollen badly. Today, the wound (a dog fight?) is very open. The maggots did a good job though. Now, I live in VERY rural Thailand and wonder what I can do to help him. He's been on 'anti-biotics' (or something (language barrier)), but I would like to help more NOW.I just bathed his 'scalping' with pressed garlic in cold water, but that was only a guess. I thought of pouring cold cooking oil on it to seal it. What do you suggest? All the best,Owen.

Default Laceration

Hi,

It seems that somebody probably cut him.
He still seems happy enough and is eating heartily.
The 'cut' is full of a pink slush, which looks rather like the pink substance that oozes from a slowly roasting joint of beef.
I don't know whether to wash it out or let it 'solidify' possibly into a scab.
Any ideas?

Regards,
Owen.
