Potomac Horse Fever

Hi Everyone,

I was talking to a neighbor and one of their horses has PHV. They are seeing a vet but they asked me if I knew of anything that might help. I'm hoping someone here has some insight. All I can remember is they said the horse wouldn't eat, has a fever and diarrea. Don't know what the vet has them giving the horse but I do know they are giving it Pepto Bismol every 4 hours. I hope someone knows what might help since the vet told them many horses don't recover.
