Well, that's interesting, William. I've never used any of the remedies you listed for my cat that insists upon getting clawed-up and bitten (by another cat) every 6 weeks or so. But glad to know what some of the options are in case he gets infected.

Fortinately, I've always used Ledum 30C, and it has worked like a miracle in preventing infection or abscesses. In fact, my cat is on Ledum right now because he has been in another fight. Before I learned about homeopathy, my poor cat was often on antibiotics, even though I tried diligently to shave, clean, and disinfect the wounds. Seems there was always one I missed.

I think I read about the Ledum in Hamilton's book? Now, I can't remember for sure.

Ledum 30C has been recommended in 3 homeopathic books I've read as being the "first line of defense" against Tick Borne Diseases if you or your pet gets a tick bite.

While tick bites only get infected maybe 50% of the time, the tick can still transmit some very nasty microorganisms that live in the tick's gut that will cause big problems later. Why take the chance? Give Ledum 30C as a preventative.

Thanks, Wim! I had not seen that thread. Interesting - but sad - story about so many horses being affected by Lyme back East in this country.
