If there are no other clear symptoms/modalities give :

Aconite (Aconitum) 30c (or 30k). Give one dose every 15 minutes up to 6-8 times as necessary.

Hello Wim

The Acon 30 worked great!!! You're a genius.

I only gave it to him twice. Once when I got home with the remedy and then again at night about 10 p.m. He was hanging outside as usual after I ran some Reiki on him. At 2 a.m. I woke up to check on him and he had no fever whatsoever.

Although, his head, ears and neck were still warm after the first dose of Acon yesterday, he was eating and being himself.

This morning, however, I noticed that he didn't eat during the night as he normally does and he was not hungry this morning. He is being himself. Jumping on everything and playing with everything. It is raining this morning so that is probably why he is hanging around indoors.

Could the loss of appettitte be a result of the acon?

Very good to hear he`s better now !

I think, the loss of appetite is just a coincidence. (Possibly result of the fever....and will pass)

P.S. Wim

Have you started any threads for animal constituion phosphorus? I think my kitten is phosphorus. I read somewhere that phosphorus constitution get sick often. I have had a dog for 10 years and she has rarely been sick. But the kitten has been sick more often than my dog in his very short life.

Hi Pat,

As soon as I have a little more time I`ll post about the Phos. type. Right now I have to deal with (too) many (shelter) and other animal and human cases.

But as it`s you, Phos. will be the first type I`ll discuss next time......is a lot of typing you know for a slow typist such as I am....

Hello Wim

thank you so much!!! Phosphorus sounds just like my dog. Maybe I have two phosphorus pets.

Really appreciate the time you take to help us.

So how do I make use of the constitutional remedy?

Actually a bit too much too explain it all here, but I`ll try to give a brief explanation :

Constitutional prescribing (giving the indicated constitutional remedy) is done on all aspects of the animal`s personality and health, both mental and physical. It can be very effective but requires the involvement of a homeopathically qualified professional for full case taking.

So the prescription depends not only on the symptoms present, but also relies heavily on the basic physical and mental characteristics of the patient/animal.

It`s also possible that e.g. a dog`s symptoms such as burning skin, worse from heat etc. match the remedy Sulphur, but is otherwise 100% an Arsenicum album type of dog, then Arsenicum alb. will almost certainly help more than Sulphur. In this example prescription is only based on the constitutional type of animal of which I earlier posted 2 examples, viz. the Pulsatilla and Phosphorus types.

Another example is treating behavioral problems in dogs. Suppose your dog`s behaviour is really very bad and his constitutional type is e.g. Phosphor, then it`s often possible to (considerably) change the dog`s behaviour for the better by giving him his const. remedy for a longer period. Giving only one or two doses has usually no effect, but unfortunately this is not known in several countries yet. In the Netherlands huge empirical has been gathered how to do this properly and effectively.

You`ll understand now that this kind of prescribing can only be done by an experienced professional.
