Arnica is one of the most widely known, valued and useful homeopathic remedies both for people and animals.

We can use this remedy for several disorders/conditions in animals.

I`ll mention the most important uses :

For shock of any kind, particularly following accidents. If you have given Aconite (Aconitum) first, Arnica will follow Aconite well in such situations.

For bruising, sprains, strains and in all cases of injury, but Arnica shouldn`t be used on a broken skin ! Sometimes used together with Hypericum in case of (serious) pain e.g. caused by lacerated wounds where nerve endings have been damaged.

After any unaccustomed activity such as endurance events, agility etc.

After strokes alternately (alternating) with Belladonna.

For aural haematomas, which are large swellings in the earflap filled with blood, and nosebleeds.

Before and after any operation. Arnica has an antiseptic action which helps to promote healing by reducing inflammation, swellind and tissue damage. It also helps to control haemorrage/bleeding.

Before and after giving birth, for the same reasons as mentioned above.

Before and after any dental work it will help to minimise bruising, soreness and bleeding. Can often best be used with Hypericum to ease the pain.

For eye injuries with subconjunctival (the white of the eye) or retinal (the back surface of the eye) haemorrage.
