She still has a big open wound on her leg that won't heal. After the first 2 weeks, I followed my vet's advice (what was I thinking?) and put her on an antibiotic and have the bandage changed 2 times a week. I had to change the bandage myself yesterday and I bathed the wound in comfrey tea and smeared the telfa pad with a salve I purchased from the health food store of burdock root, comfrey, calendula, and some other herbs. I gave her calendua and hypericum (both 30c) last night and again this morning. Is there anyhting else I can do? I don't want her to lose the leg, but the healing is so slow and the muscle mass is deminishing. Thanks for any advice! Susan |

Hi Susan,
In my book of homeopathic remedies for cats by George Macleod it sais 'If the infection of an open wound proceeds to a more chronic stage leading to tissue being under-run with the establishment of sinuses and fistula (a common occurrence in the cat) SILICEA should prove useful. Potency of 200c should be considered 3x weekly for 4 weeks' I hope this will help you. Also have a look on this side : http://www.shirleys-wellness-cafe.com/holisticguide.htm There is always something interesting to find here. Mirjam |
