short hair cat shedding excessively

Hi!

My 7 yr old in door only..short haired female cat is shedding a lot ..in a way I've never seen before. She does not have any bold patches and seems otherwise healthy...maybe she scratches herself a bit but that's it.

A few months ago I took her to the vet for her checkup and vaccinations and she was ok...no fleas.

Any ideas what is triggering this? We moved from a basement suit into a bright apartment .....and its late spring ..could that be the reason or maybe some allergy?
