5-week old squirrel with swollen joint
I am taking care of a 5-week old Gray Squirrel that weights 90 grams. I have been taking care of him for twelve days, and now I’m noticing that he is having difficulty in moving around. He seems to be favoring his right front arm. In examining, the right front elbow joint is swollen; there are no sights of any redness or any inflammation. I am feeding him one part Esbilac powder milk / four parts water / one quarter part heavy whipping cream.
I am wondering if this could be Gout caused by the heavy whipping cream. I am going to stop adding the cream until I hear different. Are there any Homeopathic medications that may be given to relive the swelling? Does this sound like Gout, and if so, what is the best treatment?
09/12/05 - The elbow joint is still swollen, there is now redness with inflammation. Pain seems to increase with gentle messaging of the joint or after climbing on cage.
Siggy
