Default Remedy for loss of appetite in dog

The guiding symptom is a good steady appetite that declines rapidly after only one missed meal. After that it takes a bit to improve again. No amount of coaxing can get appetite going again and weight loss is quick.

But once appetite is up again, improvement in weight and appetite is quick.

Thank you,

Default Loss of appetite in dog/cat

Hi W.

If your dog/cat doesn`t suffer from any liver disorder, doesn`t vomit and hasn`t got diarrhoea, then the first remedy to try for loss of appetite is :

Chininum arsenicosum 4x (if not obtainable give 2x, 3x, 6x or 3c or 3k), 3 times a day till improvement. (China arsenicosum is the same as Chininum arsenicosum).

Second choice of remedy is China officinalis 3c or 6x, same dosing as mentioned above.

However, depending on different presenting symptoms other remedies may be indicated.
