Hi! I was just told this afternoon that one of my babies has tested postive for FIP. I'm also being told that the tests are not very accurate regardless of whether it comes back positive or negative. Needless to say, I am devastated; my pets are my children. I've run across something on the internet called Transfer Factor. Has anyone heard of this or ever used it? If anyone here has ever had to deal with this horrible disease, can you tell me if there are any other tests you had done on your cat in order to find out if FIP was definitely the problem? I've run across so many articles on the internet and thought one recommended doing a biopsy. I'm just hoping someone here may be able to help with any suggestions or personal experiences. I just can't understand how this has happened; all of my cats are strictly indoor pets and have no contact with other animals whatsoever. Thank you so much for listening and any help or suggestions in advance.

Test only shows exposure to corona, not sure which corona actually causes FIP. If cat was ever given FIP vaccine, it will also show positive result. May be other condition like pancreatitus, need to do more tests. If FIP its unfortunate that your cat fell into the 5% of corona exposure cats that will for whatever reason develope FIP. We have attempted to treat many cases to no avail, but always do postmortum to confirm.
