I live in South Africa and I have had an adult resued feral cat living with me for the past 3 years. He was very wild when I first noticed him in my garden. We were moving house in six weeks, but I managed to tame him enough to get him neutered. When we moved I only locked him up with 1 day and he has never left since. He has now turned into the most loveable loyal cat. I can't believe that he was so agressive when he first arrived.
About 2 months ago I noticed that he was running a fever, and that he had a lump on his nose between his eyes. I took him to the vet and he came up possitive to FIV and a head x-ray showed corrosion of the nasal bones. A fine needle aspiration also showed highly suspiscious cancer cells. He is now on a course of Baytril as his fever is back and I also have him taking Interferon, 7 days on and then 7 days off.
I have also had him at a Homeopathic vet who has him taking Moducare, Silica, Hecla, Belladonna and has all my resuced 9 cats on the AIDS Nosodes.
He is also now eating a raw meat diet, having probiotics and cod liver oil.
Any other ideas will be much appreciated. I go in to hospital for brain surgery, in 2 weeks time and can't help worrying about my boy. My husband will look after him, but I wish we could just get rid of the fevers that keep coming back and maybe find a way to shrink his nasal tumor.
Thanks everyone.
