This dog belongs to a friend of mine, she has small papules on the neck and trunk, knees and feet, later turning into crusts (grey), it is very itchy, and the dog licks and bites herself, which later gets infected.(gets worse when warm)
Hair is falling out, and the skin gets thickened, where she is scratching.
She has been treated and is treated with antibiotics,
anti histamine and cortisone, which of course is very suppressive.
she is a vizla 4 years old, quite hyperactive (which is normal for that breed) very friendly towards people and other dogs.
She doesn't like to eat the dry food, so whenever possible they try to give her chicken and rice (cooked).
when repping the case, sulphur and merc came up strongly.
At the moment they dont want to stop with the anti histamine, because it seems to help with the itch.
Who can help me please ?

Most often problems are diet related or related to vaccines. Raw diet is best NO dry food, its loaded with preservatives, fake nutrients and of course cancer causing grains (quit with the rice). Steriods only perpetuate the situation, these people must be willing to stop them and live with the fact that the dog's coat will be awful for the next year as it begins to heal. If they are not willing, there really is no point treating homeopathically besides which, the steriod therapy will probably kill the dog within 2-3 years. Skin conditions are very difficult to treat and are rarely cured within a remedy. Sulph is very obvious in almost all skin ailments, you need more info and need to find the symptoms peculiar to the case to sucessfully select a remedy and most likely several different remedies may be required as the case progresses. This takes time and of course careful observation as well as a homeopath who really knows what they are doing.

I know you probably want to help this dog, but unless the owners wish to do so, you will become frustrated. I guarentee you that this condition won't go away in a few days even if the proper remedy is selected, and most owners will panick and get frustrated themselves (usually going back to allopathic treatment) and are not usually likely to stick it out.

If they are willing its probaby best to see if the dog will wear a cone over the head. When hair grows in, in the form of stubble, its usually itchy and the dog will bite at the area, it doesn't always mean that the area is inflamed.
