Question K9 with chronic diarrhea

Please help I am at a loss. I have a 1-year-old female boxer who has chronic diarrhea with blood in the stool since I have had her last June. She was diagnosed and treated for hookworms, never fully getting rid of them she is on her (at least) fourth hookworm treatment. I have taken her to the vet and they have recently diagnosed her with Auto Immune Deficiency. After some tests later, the vet has found that her linings of intestine are swollen and she is losing protein (through her intestine they think). She is very skinny and always has been. The vet is really at a loss and has put her on steroids and antibiotics that will not cure her only sustained her symptoms for a bit. Any help would be appreciated.

Default Hookworm

Not sure if hookworms are the same as tapeworm, but if so the old homeopaths used to use pumpkin seeds , which apparently stupify the worm and it relaxes the hooks and gets passed out . Have to say that I only know of this method , have not used it.
Oh dear antibiotics and steroids -- steroids antidote all homeopathic remedies and both are suppressive from a homeopathic point of view - ie they drive the prblem deeper into the recesses of the body. and are likely to make any immune disorder worse.
There are a few remedies that cover bloody stool . Ars alb- Merc- Nuv Vom & Podophy. Check them out and see if any match the dogs individuality.

I would ask "what food are you giving". My dog has suffered with colitus since birth, and I am feeding her on Wafcol (you can find this on the net) they will give you advice. Your dog may need gluton free food. You could try Wafcol and see how it goes. It may not help. Introduce the food gradually with the food you are feeding now.
Best of luck

I'd also look at her diet, but I would reccomend changing to a real food diet, ie raw meat with bones and raw veg pureed up.

If you really want to feed commercial food, the best 'wet' food is Naturediet which has only meat and veg, each tray has the contents cooked in the tray and no artificial additives. The best dry food is Burns - again, all natural ingredients and no additives.

Colitis is best controlled through diet, and it can take a while to find what best suits your dog.

Once her conventional treatment is done, to release the toxins from her system,I'd also give her the Bach Flower Remedy Crab Apple.

Also Live Natural Yoghurt, about a tablespoon daily which will replace the good bacteria in her gut that the antibiotics have destroyed.
