Adopted this cat out 3 years ago and he was healthy as a horse. He has since been returned because of unresponsive health problems. He apparently started to pee where he shouldn't and was put on anti-b's and then clavmocal (behavior drug), he at some point developed problems with his skin and primarily ears (sticky discharge, scabs, a lot of hair loss, ears are bald and very red and hot to the touch, rims around eyes "moth-eaten", bald patches around hind quarters) and was put on prednisone. The vet continued to vaccinate him annually for 3 in 1 upper resp/panleukopenia, Fe Leukemia and rabies.

He was such a mess I opted to start on Sulp LM1 and put him on raw food. However after 2 doses I have noticed depression of appetite and spirits -any suggestions (we've just got him back so I haven't had the chance to observe many symptoms other than what I have listed).

GPM e-mailed me privately with some helpful information. I ended up giving the cat Phos 30ch one dose which worked wonders for him. I have been waiting to see how long and far this dose would take him. He is eating well again and in much better spirits, however yesterday I noticed that his hair is starting to fall out in clumps along his front and back legs. There are no abrasions or bumps underneath the fur, just smooth skin. His head is still quite "bumpy" with little scabs and red scratches, but his ears are 100x better. I gave phos based on the hairloss (esp around ears), puffy eyes, red scabs, depressed when left alone, no appetite, and also based on profuse bleeding (I gave him sub-Q fluids one night and when I withdrew the needle, he bleed profusely, nice coloured (normal) blood, that did clot properly once I noticed the problem and applied pressure). Not sure if I should move to 200ch phos or LM?? or should I be concerned about the hairloss and therefore change the prescription? (I still think he's good for phos).
