Hello all,
I have a 10 month old kitten with chronic Herpes virus. He showed up as a stray about 4 months old, very undernourished and with chronic Herpes symptoms (dark discharge from eyes, sneezing, "phleghm-y" purr). He is under the care of an excellent homeopathic vet. At the end of July he developed acute symptoms and I took him to his homeopathic vet who prescribed Merc 200C to be taken in one dosage, and then another dose 2 hours later. His acute symptoms immediately subsided and chronic ones were subdued although still there. The remedy lasted 3 weeks. We then repeated the remedy and it went much deeper and longer. It has been 6 weeks since second repeat of Merc 200C and he underwent a nice growth spurt (Herpes kitties can be underdeveloped) and symptoms were pretty much totally relieved, clearly a good remedy for him. Now it is 6 weeks and some symptoms are very slightly re-occuring. Namely a bit of rattly, phleghm-y purr and occasional very slight dark discharge which I am not concerned about. I still have some Merc and wondered if it is time for a repeat of the same? I should consult with his vet but I just do not have ANY $$ right now to do it. I might just hold off and try to scare up the money but am wondering what you think? He is holistically raised, eats raw food, no vaccs.
