The cat that went away and the cat that went blind were very close. The cat is acting like its looking for something...restless...probably the other cat...or its sight...the restlessness came after the blindness...cat was described as mellow before. Blindness started after the other cat disappeared.

Carol be careful not to confuse restless with grief. Restlessness, searching can be sign of confusion which may be consistant with stroke or neurological malfunction. From what I know about cat behavior, I would be less inclined to assume grief. Arn would still be my pick.

Carol, surely the learned veterinarian had more info to offer than "blurry spot on both corneas"! Blurry? Advise the caregivers to ask for a detailed report using real terms, not "blurry spots"! Call him and ask what he means by "fatty tissue". Caused by what, in his opinion? Vascular, adhesions, retinal hemorrhage, glaucoma.....what? Has he ever seen such "blurry spots" before? Beginnings of cataracts? What does s/he think caused this?! That's one of the problems with vets, trying to get the "words" that can be used in homeopathy.

But let's not let this drag on and on......give Arn or Bell and see if it helps at all, if no further data is forthcoming. I don't think you can cause damage with either at this point. It could be Both, Gels, Kali I, Phos, Stram or any number of remedies but there just hasn't been enough info presented! Lacking any case taking, at least try Arn or Bell. If you are trying Acon, go to 10M, repeating hourly x 3. Bell, use 1M, one per day x 7. Arn, 30, 3 x per day for 5 days(all in water, succussed). If vet feels from injury to the head, may want to try Nat S 200. Cats do (in my humble opinion) need high potencies!

You never said what potency or repetitions of the remedies already given....or if anything moved/changed at all with either.

I had a wild, adult squirrel show up at one of the feeding stations with a gray spot in the center of his eye (squirrels have solid black eyes). I didn't know if this was a cataract or not but gave him one dose of Sil 200 (water, succussed...a challenge) per week for 6 weeks. The spot is gone and he is maintaining (eating, jumping, running) well. (Yes, I know my wild squirrels by their looks and they have names...this one is Jeff.)

Macleod suggests Nat M for cases accompanied by kidney involvement (lens conditions) if thirsty and have some loss of condition, at 30C but he suggests one dose daily for *21 days*! There are so many details that need to be used! Many other remedies to consider but need some real information.

I've only given aconite 30 and nat mur 30, one time each....? So should I try the bell first...at lM...then go back to higher potency with the aconite? Confused now.

Carol,

I posted an answer to your last post re your confusion but in my confusion it seems it never made it to your thread. Maybe it's somewhere else on another thread. Sorry.

I hope one of the homeopaths will respond with a better suggestion. I feel there is much more that should be known to suggest a remedy, as I said before.

If it is absolutely impossible to obtain anything other than what has been presented, you might want to think about starting with Arn 30 (water, succussing), as frequently as 3 x's per day for a few days....but adjusting/stopping as indicated....you know about that.

Let me get this right cause I know there are two different ways to do it. Same bottle, same water, hit ten times before each dose. OR....empty bottle each time to a teaspoon, refill, hit 10 times, give a sip and repeat procedure for each new dose. Which is it? Or doesn't it make a big difference.

Carol,

I think how one doses always makes a difference. In this case, I would dissolve the remedy in 4 ounces of water (in bottle if you have it) and bang (succuss) the bottle 10 times(or if in a glass, stir briskly 10 times)before each dose after the first. For the first it isn't necessary to succuss/stir. If you give about 1-3 CCs per dose, there should be no need to refill the fluid. I suggest that you give the same amount of liquid each dose.

No additional information was available?

I just got a call....from the cat people. They say that the cat's eyes seem to be responding to light...contracting...a bit...they have been giving arnica succussed three times a day for over three days...I told them to stop...and I'd check and see if you want them to go up in potency or continue. They do say that the cat seems to be in a kind of angry state...snapping..not too intense...not a mellow mood...the week before...the cat had, unbeknownst to me, been on steroids and antibiotics...so I don't know if the original remedies of aconite and nat mur would have made any dent...since they were only one time.

Hi,

How were they administering the remedy? Syringe or in food? If in food, it may not be the reason for the change of attitude. But a lot of handling otherwise could cause it, like Krista said. Would this cat normally begin to resent too much handling? Or is that more her normal state? How about other signs of "well being"? Better or worse? Is it a "leave me alone, I'm fine" attitude that wasn't there before this problem? Or is she becoming more Bell?

When a response is noted, it's time to lengthen time between doses and re-dose when improvement ceases or begins to slide backward. If the potency given (30?) stops acting but has helped, then may want to go higher or retake case and possibly change remedies.

Nice that there has been physical improvement but sorry if there has been emotional upset.
