Default Still hope or euthanasia - please help!

Could somebody please help me. Before Christmas my dog started to behave differently than usual. She was trembling and had problems with her balance. We noticed that it was better after eating and when blood sugar went down dog collapsed. Today we visited vet doctor and as I was afraid it was diagnosed tumour in abdomen (probably in pancreas). It seemed to be quite big and doctor didnīt recommend operation. From vet we got Prednison and Synolux and we will check this week if they give some help. Is there any organ remedies beside constitutional remedy you could suggest and what potency? Any help would be appreciated!

Default Still hope etc.

Hello Elviira,

Homeopathic treatment can be helpful in slowing down the growth of a tumour or in some cases causing it to reduce in size, sometimes even considerably.

Unfortunately, treatment of such a serious situation can`t be done properly online, because the treatment of tumours with homeopathy is a skilled and usually difficult process which needs to be monitored all the time by an experienced vet. homeopath or hom.vet.

The vet. hom. or hom. vet first tries to find the constitutional remedy and also prescribes a (cancer)nosode e.g Carcinosin or Scirrhinum to be given alternately. Usually Q (=LM)potencies are used then. The nosode is prescribed as a sort of door opener to make it possible for the constitutional remedy to work properly. During treatment other remedies are sometimes indicated and prescribed, according to new symptoms/modalities. In some cases tumours as big as a tennis ball are reduced to the size of a peanut, but this can take up to a year or sometimes even longer to achieve this !

An internal tumour is often discovered in a rather late stage because the animal may not be aware that anything is wrong until the tumour begins to interfere with normal bodily functions. Symptoms may include jaundice, diarrhoea, vomiting, loss of appetite, increased thirst etc.

It`s a pity it`s too late late for surgical intervention, because this is often the most beneficial course of action.

Sorry, I can`t help you any further with this !

Wim! How wonderful to find you here!

Elviira, sorry to read about your friend's problem. Wim is correct that this is very difficult. You will need either an excellent *human* homeopath to guide you or, if you can find one, a very qualified vet homeopath. One available on an ongoing, regular basis.

Perhaps someone might be able to suggest a qualified practitioner if you could advise your location.

As for the organ specific remedies for cancer of the Pancreas, Dr. Ramakrishnan (A Homeopathic Approach to Cancer) suggests Cadmium Sulphuricum, Ceanothus Americanus or Hydrastis, depending on symptoms, used as Wim stated, along with a cancer nosode.

The one cat I treated using Dr. Ramakrishnan's protocol started treatment using Aloe/Carc and was changed to Hydras/Carc (all 200C) after a few weeks, remaining on those remedies for about 18 months, with occasional doses of Lyc LM/Q. He has been off the *protocol* for about a year now and is still with us. He was very debilitated, terribly sick, quite old and feeble at the start of his *protocol* (course of cancer remedies) but he's managed a few pretty good years....and isn't indicating he's ready to quit just yet.

Good luck,
Georgianna

Hello Georgianna,

My computer was on the fritz a couple of times and repaired twice, because of which I lost several e-mail addresses including yours, Fiona`s, Ajay`s etc. but most of them have contacted me again. I had most of them printed out earlier, but unfortunately not all of them !

As for Dr. Ramakrishnan`s protocol I explained a few things earlier on Hpathy pet forum.
What I didn`t mention then and which we shouldn`t forget is that most human patients next to this homeopathic protocol also get allopathic treatment, which consists of surgery in most cases. This treatment is advised by Dr.Ramakrishnan himself as well (!). After that chemotherapy or radiotherapy is sometimes inevitable !

Dr. R sees most patients in the very first stage or after having finished their regular (allopathic) treatment. Then he tries to improve the patient`s condition in order to prevent a relapse or tries to achieve further recovery. He has recorded the treatment of over 2000 cancer patients now and results have been considerably improved since the introduction of the Plussing Method ! In one of his latest interviews he says that he sees an improvement of 30 % on average in the effects of his former homeopathic method where he prescribed e.g. one pellet/granule or tablet once a week. Perhaps I`ll tell you some more about his activities in the future !

Have to leave now, till soon ! Wim.

Thank your very much for your quick answers . Forget to say that I know little bit about homeopathy (have studied it almost 4 years and now and then treated people and animals with it). But have no experience with tumours (only two cases with mammary tumours) and cancer. And especially when its concerning my own pet with so serious situation I think its difficult to think clearly enough. I have give to my dog some remedies (for example carc and ars) but I afraid I have work in this case with too much panic and fear - feel that something has to be done and very quickly or its too late (and Iīm afraid its too late).

I was hestating to give my dog those antibiotic and cortisone prescriptions. Maybe they will help or on the other hand take my dog down rapidly - hope not. Iīm also thinking how they will prevent homeopathic remedies working....

On our lectures we studied little bit about Ramakrishnanīs protocol and read some article from "Homeopathy links" about it but still know far too little about it - now it would be so necessary.... Maybe I have to buy his book and study myself.

You are totally right that those tumours is often discovered too late. I think its just so in my dogīs case and hoped that I would understand something is wrong little bit earlier. Our dog has always been very healthy - only couple of months ago we noticed that she has 2 mammary tumours. Homeopathy didnīt help (or maybe its me who didnīt know how to help enough). First we decided not to operate (wrong decision when thinking afterwards but we thought that 13 age dog was quite old for operations and also afraid that after operation tumours would spread fast). When other tumour was suddenly growing very fast we knew that operation was only option. When Iīm thinking back I afraid I should have given my dog more homeopathic attention after operation (operation went extremely well with the help of arnica)... stupid me . Maybe that tumour is metastasis from that mammary tumour.

I think within 2 days our dog has come down. Itīs more tired, stomach seems to be swollen and we give very small portions of food many time in day. After big portions she feels uncomfortable, whines and is restless. We decided to wait this week (or of course less if she get worsen from this condition), see what those vet doctors prescrtiptions do and try to find some help from homeopathy too. You mentioned Scirrhinum and Ceanothus - I took them also consideration but unfortunately I havenīt neither of them in my supply. Have to try to order them from my country or Helios if there is time for that. Or maybe try to find them from other homeopaths supplies.

If there still comes some advices or ideas to your minds Iīm glad to hear them.

Back from housecall I`ll tell a bit more about this well known doctor.

Dr. Ramakrishnan is 62 years old, is an Indian doctor with an excellent reputation and he has more than 30 years homeopathic experience !

For the recognition/acknowledgement of homeopathy in India he has worked very hard ! He is adviser for the government and may call himself the homeopathic doctor of the president of India !

He became even more well known because of his treatment of cancer patients and he developed his own method for this, called Plussing, to extinguish (put out) the fire, to use his own words.

Dr. R is a modest person standing firmly on both feet in the world and who has given his heart to homeopathy.

He goes, for example, four times a year to a regular/allopathic hospital in Dublin and visits (amongst others) the Neurology wards where he is allowed to treat the difficult cases.

He is a kind of ambassador (or envoy) of homeopathy travelling all over the world to share his experiences with colleagues.

Cancer patients are not particularly the easiest target group ! But his strong motivation to treat esp. these patients originates from a family tragedy, because both a brother and a sister of his died from cancer. Both of them were homeopathic doctors, but nothing could be done for them in time !

Dr. R then thought : Wouldn`t there be a way to support cancer patients in whatever stage the disease is at ?

He compares the work he usually does with putting out a fire. There isn`t much time to wait or waste ! The same holds good for the treatment of cancer patients ! To obtain a rapid result is all that matters ! You simply can`t wait for months !

Dr. R says : If you treat this bad condition in the classical way, then patients will die in the classical way as well !

That`s why Dr. R tried several methods. For the last 5 years the Plussing Method hasn`t been changed and will be continued until changes are necessary.

to be continued. Wim.

Continuation Dr. R

Growing interest.

A rapidly growing number of homeopaths get interested in Dr. R`s method. Most of us are Kentian homeopaths, which is a good standard to start with and we won`t deviate easily from that !

But after 5 to 10 years experience one will be more open to different/new approaches.

Then Dr. R`s method will also come on.

In practice in acute cases we deviate from the Kentian method. Then, for example, we prescribe a remedy on a few modalities or on one or a few keynotes, example of which is the famous Arnica.

So as for an acute case the strategy differs from the strategy for a chronic case !

Dr. R says that the mental/emotional picture of a patient may be clear, but if somebody gets a kidney stone, then he`ll look at the pathology and prescribes a remedy that fits this condition best.

He says that many well known homeopaths claim that they only work according to the classical method, but if you read their prescriptions they don`t always correspond to what they claim !

Wim.

Hello Elviira, Since you know a lot more about homeopathy than a layman I`d try something anyway if it was my dog. It`s a very slim chance, but you have got nothing to lose and I`d advise as follows :

If you are absolutely sure of the constitutional remedy of your dog you could give this remedy alternately with Carcinosin.(Bearing in mind it`s not sure the pancreas is involved here !)

One dose is 1 tablet or 3 granules/coarse pellets (nr.35) for small dogs and 2 tablets or 4-5 coarse pellets (nr.35) for big(ger) dogs to be given dry (!) in mouth.

Give 1 daily dose of Carcinosin 30c in the morning and 1 daily dose in 30c of the constitutional remedy in the afternoon or evening.

Don`t touch remedies with your hands but give them straight from the cap of the bottle/container or from a clean spoon.

If you don`t know the const. remedy of your dog you could give me a good description of your dog with as many details as possible and then I may be able to tell you the right constitution of your companion.

Thank you very much for your help and interest!!! I should defintely read more about Ramakrishnan and Iīm very interested to learn in future homeopathy in cancer treatment - in fact I started to study homeopathy after my mother died in cancer and I couldnīt help her. Now I feel Iīm in same hopeless situation again...

I felt little bit panic with my dog - so I already gave it some remedies today. In fact I gave a dose of carc c30. And after that constituional remedy (I gave nat mur but Iīm not really sure if that was a right choice... perhaps she is more peaceful after that remedy but Iīm not sure).

Here is some information about my dog if something will come to your mind. She is West Highland White Terrier. Compared her puppy which live with us she is no so open ( her puppy is definitely phosphorus ). She likes to be in company and she is usually quite calm and little bit more seriuous compared to her child ( but can sometimes get excited to bark, jump, run....) . Sometimes stubborn... as usual many terriers are. I think she can also be a little bit jealous towards our other dog (can stare that dog straight to the eyes when I give attention to other dog etc.). And sometimes try to boss (in past they had some strong quarrels and the other dog won - now if they start quarrel she always give up straight away... however she likes to still try a little bit...). Easily "protest" when something is not going on right way : bark if left alone in one room and she wants out, whines if food is not coming on right time (even if she has already given food earlier than normally) etc. At least now prefer cooler places. Earlier she didnīt like to be very much on lap but some times ago that thing changed a little bit. And now she is again changed. She can be near us but doesnīt want to be on lap (maybe because of >cold). Has been very healthy. Before mammary tumours some times problems with her ears and little bit dundruff (which was helped with diet).
