Question

White Dog Shaker Syndrome

That isn't a very scientific name, but it describes the condition exactly.

Small white dogs (Maltese, West Highland white terriers, Bichon Frise) can develop tremors for unexplained reasons that can be very severe. These dogs usually have really bizarre eye movements and get much worse when excited or stressed.

The usual treatment for this is to give diazepam (Valium Rx) to control the tremors and prednisone because we don't know what else to do.
Copied from an allopathic vet site.
what would be the answer in homeopathy?

Thanks,GM, I was just surfing the dog sites when I came across this item. It is really pitiful what I have read about dogs and cats and their problems since I got my computer. It is tragic how sick they get from allopathic treatment and diets. Wish more people were aware of what they do to pets by taking them to vets. So glad this BB is here for people to find, and am particularly glad that you are here to help.

Question

GM, why food related, do you think? Something to do with toxins, triggered by anxiety and the lack of pigment or the pink skin not able to function as well as normal? My experience is with white cats and I know their behavior and mental sensitivity is quite profoundly different from other cats, even different from cats that are almost all white but have a spot or two. Sorry to interrupt, just very interested in your view.

Since I switched my cats to a natural raw diet last year I have seen so many positive changes in the cat who had the chronic gingevitis. This is now a crusade of mine, it really is worth the effort involved.

Pitcairn's book includes a doggy diet. Look at people and some of the food allergies and intolerances we experience, look at the diet of wild dogs and the stuff we commonly feed them. Is it any wonder we have so many problems.

Also, that type of dogs, tend to be neutered, and have cut tails,,grhh, and this gives kidneystones, and nerves and ticks, if neuthered it is kalium carb thats the remedy, and they need kalium free diet( potashfree) raw meats ,vegetables, and no fish, canned food are cannibalistic, and it contains lots of kalium.

Yes I know about the ingredients in commercial dog and cat food. There are many good sites on the web for people interested in finding this info. It is criminal what the powers that be allow into the pet's food. There are some good sites on raw diets also, but the animals still need homeopathy to clear them from damage.Homeopathy and raw, natural diets will keep a pet healthy for a lifetime. To find these sites all you have to do is type in raw or natural diet for pets, and you will get many sites,or use askjeeves.com to ask your questions.I hope anyone reading this thread who is still using commercial dogfood will take a look. I'll guarantee them they will not feed their pet that food again!!!!!!

What are some of those web sites specifically where I can find out what is in commericial dog food. From the hints you all have given, it sounds like it could be quite awful.

Thanks in advance!

There are many sites out there. just remember to check info for yourself. There is some homework involved! These two are excellent sites. I have viewed many, many sites with the same info. I also have books written by alternative practiononers that give you the backup research. From what I have been able to find out, this info is true.

Two things

1. A natural raw diet is potash free. The potash enters the commercial diet as fillers (and you really don't want to know what the source of the fillers are). Look at my thread from a few weeks ago on potash in the Pets and Animals section.

2. When I was trying to track down info about potash free diets I came across an email group for people feeding their cats a natural raw diet. It is at egroups.com. I bet there is an equivalent for dogs somewhere.
