Question

Have a pregnant cat here, due next week. She's a small cat to begin with, only 15 months old herself, and her belly is getting HUGE! Have no idea how many kitties are in there but was wondering if giving Pulsatilla to the cat, as with human women, would ease the birth and labor process.

Also, this cat urinates and sometimes defecates on the floor rather than the litter box. This has been going on a long time, long before the pregnancy. If more details were given about her, would it be possible to adjust her behaviour to stop this? Obviously this can't continue in my home, and we will have to get rid of her if it doesn't stop. This is sad since she is so sweet and we love her, but it smells like a barn in here, very awful.

Thanks,
Sunny

Dont wash the areas wher she relives herself with clorine or other detergents that smells like urine, the cat thinks its allowed cause it smells a similar thing.

Also, put the litterbox above the most used place.
And use puls 200 one dose, if labour see to be close, it will take max four houers before its over.count down..

Well, kitty had 4 little babies today, the 24th, 3 days after the Pulsatilla. Took about 4-5 hours all together and a pretty easy labor......of course, I wasn't the one who popped out 4 babies but seemed not too bad to me! Of course, she did it in the middle of my living room rug....

Mom and babies doing well, and oh boy are the kitties cute!

Glad Momma and babies are all OK......now...I'm sure you don't want to add to the millions of unwanted cats who end up destroyed in the shelters each year and plan to get those babies and their Momma spayed and neutered! Even if you find homes for them, don't count on the new caregivers to do it...so many wait until it's too late.

I know GM doesn't approve but if he could see the results of feline overpopulation in the US that I've seen, I think he might see the need. ONE unspayed female cat having only 4 kittens per litter, none of the offspring neutered, can be responsible for producing 33,500 cats in 6 years. About 70,000 puppies and kittens are born each day in the US......some shocking numbers. I have also seen first hand what happens to the cats that don't GET to the shelter to be euthanized...those kittens used as baseballs, the ones thrown from cars speeding down the road, the kittens one man threw to his starving, chained up dog to kill and eat (which it did)....laughing while he did it...they call that the other form of birth control. And the kittens the mother and her children bring to the shelter, knowing they will be euthanized but they had so wanted the children to have the opportunity to experience the wonder of birth! We ask if they would like to take their children to the back room and allow them to experience the wonder of death.

I can see you care about your kitties and they are very lucky to be in such good hands. Best of luck to you all.

HRhhhmhh, you dont know, i approve on neutering of females, cause that is not so damaging, it dont give any changes in them thats problematic, or disease , as i does in males. the correct way to neuther, is to sewer the cords, not to remome the testes..or any hormonal gland.
I do not approve of birthcontroll pills.
Dont give them away before their three months old, theyr not weaned off before that, and is prooned to get imunedefiency diseases, and will be very unclean, and nervous if not kept till after that age..

GM,
If males are neutered as you suggest, do they still have the male "attitudes"? I mean the aggression toward other males, the tendency to spray, continue to try to breed...that kind of thing that makes them difficult to live with?! Would definitely use your method in the future if it reduced those tendencies....have seen too many urinary problems with the neutered males and if this is an alternative, it will certainly be my choice for them!

Question

I have been concened about the lack of pain relief offered to animals in any surgery.

Any suggestions, opinions on pain relief before during or after the operation.

And I'd have one of your kitties if we lived on the same continent , love cats.

no options for males i think..theis behaviour is to be controlled otherwise, my cat dont sprey..he knows im boss, and what you do is this, if seing a alien male cat just scare him away. or help your cat do that..he then knows whos master, and do not spray.
