Default Senility in animals.

Unfortunately a lot of people don`t know this, but homeopathic remedies can be helpful in dealing with this problem ! Professional diagnosis may be necessary !

Senility is often referred to in people as dementia. There`s a gradual loss of oxygen to the brain, usually in ageing animals causing them to become confused and disorientated. It occurs to an extent in dogs and cats, but rarely in other species, who on the whole do not live into old age. Such animals appear normal in many respects, retain a healthy appetite and in most cases still have an acceptable quality of life.

Symptoms that show your companion (i.e. your pet animal !) is suffering from senility are :

Change of normal behaviour of the animal is usually seen. It may wander about aimlessly and stand with its head in the corner for some time and even appear to be unaware of its usual surroundings and may begin to lose control of bowels and bladder.

Three of the main hom. remedies are Baryta carbonica, Conium and Causticum.

Give Baryta carb. 30c if symptoms of senility get apparent. Dose 3 times daily for 4-6 days. Repeat frequently (approx.8-10 days intervals) if improved.

Conium 6c, if incoordination is noticeable,as well as the other symptoms of senility. Dose 3 times daily for 10-12 days. Repeat every 4 weeks approx. if improved.

Causticum 30c, if there is general aging and debility with loss of control of bladder and/or bowels. Dose 3 times daily for 8-10 days and repeat every 3-4 weeks approx. as necessary if some improvement is distinct.(clearly observed).

A dose is 1 tablet or 2-3 coarse pellets to be given dry in mouth !
