Default what to use for nerve damage in a horse...

I found this on another site that I frequent. The site does not allow for any other sites to be mentioned so I could not refer the individual to this site to have his question answered. Can anyone help with this? I will forward your reply to this individual.(thank-you , in advance ,for any help you may be able to give)

"My horse underwent an operation to remove a sinal cyst. The result was the nerve in the infra orbital canal was left part exposed. This has left him with nerve damage. The part of the nerve left exposed has since died leaving the left lower side of his face numb. I have been giving him Hypericum 10M (6 pills twice daily on the advice of a pharmacist at a homeopathic supply company. I have been give contradicting advice on dosage. Can you advise whether a)a higher strength dose is better for short term (I was told to give him the above for a week and see how he was and then if no improvement try again for another week and so on) Would be be better on a lower strength for a long term? Is there any other homeopathic medicine which may help his condition? "
