You're all falling for what is commonly termed a "troll" (someone who is
insincere and attempting to lure one into endless circular discussions for
"kicks").

He can be one of three things: a troll, someone playing Devil's advocate, or genuine.

It doesn't matter to me what he is, because he is helping me to perfect my writing skills. It's very easy to write and communicate with people who are like-minded but it requires more skill to deal with sceptics like him. Also, it enables me to do a lot of searching for info myself, which I probably wouldn't have the need to do otherwise, and communicate with other people that are opening doorways into new areas of thought.

The interesting thing I'm finding about the whole of this debate are the issues that he's leaving unanswered; that in itself speaks volumes for me.

Christine you might want to consider the credibility of sources of information. The link you posted about UV light and healing light was a big pile of pooh that is demonstrably untrue. Stick to reading the scientific press for stories about science and avoid highly partisan websites such as newstarget. I recommend Scientific American and possibly the scienceblogs website if you want to read scientists interpretations of current news stories.

I heartily agree about the "arrogant" charge! :^D
But as to giving his real name, that I do not think we should get
stuck on. I agree with him that the *ideas* should be able to speak
for themselves, doesn't matter who he is. There are all sorts of
reasons he might not want to say, and most of them have nothing to do
with us anyway. So far he seems to be discussing honestly. (Will he
*read* any of the information that could correct his view? That
remains to be seen, and if not, my patience would then run out pretty
quickly... We'll see.)

"Gimpy" will not give his or her real name, and whether or not s/he does
is not relevant. What is relevant is that s/he is a troll: consider
someone who posts to a mailing list about homeopathy, not because s/he
has something to contribute, or learn, or ask, but for the sole purpose
of stirring up dissent. That is what trolling is.

Moreover, I decided to stop responding to his or her trolls because s/he
repeats the common Big Lies. Knowing misstatements about the truth are
called lies, and those who knowingly misstate the truth are called liars.

So-called scientists who only parrot the Big Lies because they read them
somewhere are not scientists, and furthermore they have no respect for
science.

Hahnemann's method of proving a remedy is REAL science, because it comes
from a premise of "let's see what this does" and not "I will only accept
data that falls within my expectations and beliefs". So-called
scientists without the integrity or respect for science that a brilliant
surgeon named Constantine Hering had, it is my opinion that those pseudo
scientists are frauds.

hering wanted to put homeopathy in the grave once and for all, and had
the intelligence to know that if he wanted to do that, he should know
the enemy well, to find its vulnerabilities. I'll leave it to others to
annotate the rest of the story.

I urge others to avoid responding to the troll.

It s obvious that it is an orchestrated campaign to discredit homeopathy.
Big Pharma is footing the bills, it is a pittance to them. Some of the "skeptics" on the jref forum even admitted to it and explained how they are paid.

I don't know how Gimpy fits into it, but he seems to be a minion of Goldacre.

My occassionally viewings suggest that these "skeptics" are quite obviously being sacastic - that these mutterings are taken in this forum as being the truth would amuse them greatly and no doubt provide them with even greater ammunition.

Last time I asked a rather delicate question on the list. He mailed me that he liked to help me. No name, no profession, no nothing.
So I didn't go into it. But I had the idea that the next thing he would be asking was, can you send me a photo of this woman and of her complaints. So I thought , could be a dirty old man. But now I think he could be looking for more ammunition??

greetings Bernard
and by the way, that patient from the question is doing well on only homeopathy. One tumor disappeared, now waiting for the next one.

Dear Edouard,

I'm curious. What SPECIFIC link or references do you have to the jref forum when some of these people admitted to being employed by Big Pharma?

Thanx,

Dana Ullman
