Unfortunately I didn't note the the thread at the time. There were a number of ongoing topics where the skeptics were attacking homeopathy
I am sure you are aware of them.

I just took a quick look at the board and didn't see them , perhaps they have been removed by the powers that be at jref for fear of embarrassing their sponsors.

What exactly is homeolist (AT) otherhealth (DOT) com?

A couple have used this email on here.

I've looked at the forum board and a lot printed here is printed there. I have access to the whole forum, plus members' section but I'm not registered with them.

Does anyone know the outcome of this

Hi Christine:

I watched the debate online at the URL below.

http://mediasite.uchc.edu/Mediasite4...240TR.aspx?mod
e=Default&peid=407916ea-6301-4ede-b04f-c3650e4073a7&pid=cb4535b1-6610-4f6
f-9c47-89f4114476ec&playerType=WM7#
In the small screen on the right you will see the presenters, the large
screen on the left of the page shows their overhead sheets of statistics.

However, in Homeopathy Today - November/December 2007 Issue - pg 8 - it
states that an on-line opinion poll conducted pre and post debate showed
that a significant percentage of viewers were swayed by the
pro-homeopathy presenters and that more will be reported in detail
regarding this debate in upcoming issues of Homeopathy Today. [you might
want to subscribe if you haven't already...]
..... snip.... "
And HT says you can view a video recording of the debate at:
www.sonic-foundary.com/uconn
That link can also be found at the NCH website,
www.nationalcenterforhomeopathy.org

I have to say that it was quite a debate - but the homeopaths were
SUPERB! Gimpy could not hold a candle to any of them.

oops: forget the # sign at the end of the first URL... should have been:

http://mediasite.uchc.edu/Mediasite4...240TR.aspx?mod
e=Default&peid=407916ea-6301-4ede-b04f-c3650e4073a7&pid=cb4535b1-6610-4f6
f-9c47-89f4114476ec&playerType=WM7

It's so long that you might have to cut and paste the URL.

I didn't view the one on NCH's website...

Sorry, the ammunition specifically I am thinking off is that the JREF forum users think that users here, believe their sarcasm (ie/ that they are sponsered by big pHARMa and are driving around in fast cars provided by the company....etc.etc.).

Ie/ if they tell us "it's a conspiracy" and we agree, then they can legitimately say "look at those twits believeing everything we tell them, anybody would think they believe anything" etc. etc.

But I disgress...back to lurking.

and by the way, that patient from the question is doing well on only homeopathy. One tumor disappeared, now waiting for the next one.

My occassionally viewings suggest that these "skeptics" are quite obviously being sacastic - that these mutterings are taken in this forum as being the truth would amuse them greatly and no doubt provide them with even greater ammunition.

It s obvious that it is an orchestrated campaign to discredit
homeopathy.
Big Pharma is footing the bills, it is a pittance to them. Some of the
"skeptics" on the jref forum even admitted to it and explained how they
are paid.

I don't know how Gimpy fits into it, but he seems to be a minion of
Goldacre.

I wasn't sure, but it certainly seemed possible that was some big Pharma cash behind the skeptics. It seems that the major media critics of homeopathy are in some way in the pockets of Big Pharma as is all of allopathic medecine.

You have to wonder who funds a major site like jref, and Badscience we know is tainted with BIG Pharma money.

Not really a digression, IMO. I think you are quite right to encourage
us to be "skeptical of the skeptics". :-)

Well, do you believe the reverse?

Ie/ big money funding homeopathy. If not, why not?

Why is it easier to believe that it is a big conspiracy - rather than people (God forbid) are allowed to make up their own minds....and actually _might_ (gasp) disagree with us??????
