Default Homeopathy and Beethoven? Need advice from a German reader

Friends,
I have obtained some fascinating evidence that Ludwig von Beethoven may have
received homeopathic care. I do not want to discuss these details right now, but I need someone who reads German and who has access to the German edition of BEETHOVEN AS I KNEW HIM by Anton Felix Schindler (published in 1860).
On page 62 of the English edition of this book, he makes reference to a "Father Weiss," pastor at the St. Stephen's Cathedral employing "the simpliest methods." I need to know two things:
1) How does the author spell "Weiss"?
2) Is the translation accurate when translator wrote: "the simpliest methods"?

sorry, don't have the book, so can't comment, but:

at least here in Germany we do have quotes, that Beethoven as well as
Goethe used homoeopathy.
Ludwig van Beethoven was said to be treated by one of his doctors
homoeopathically in 1825, and Goethe probably used homoeopathic remedies
by himself.
In a letter to his son August he writes on September 2, 1820, that he
believed now more intense than ever in the doctrine of Hahnemann, after
having felt the effect of the smallest dose so vivid.

Best,

Gaby
