It is interesting to me, I have many patients who have fillings, but none of them gave me any related poisoning symptoms. Can you please describe what were the symptoms observed?

Mercury is a great imitator. Almost anything can be a symptom. Fillings are poisonous to all and often maintaining factors

Dear Dr. Kannan,
You may find it interesting to read some data collected by a Swiss dentist, pertaining to his own patients and their medical symptoms before and after removal of amalgam fillings. He appears to have the inquiring mind of a scientist, was aware of the controversy regarding amalgam, and became curious to see what could be understood from those in his own practice. His report, available in German, English and French, can be found at http://www.amalgam-info.ch/engel.htm A few other websites that mention some of the symptoms that can arise from the presence of mercury dental amalgam are listed below. If it would be helpful to have more, I would be happy to suggest additional ones. A risk analysis on dental amalgam commissioned by the Swedish government - http://www.dentalmaterial.gov.se/ (For the English version click on the text in the upper right corner that says: Mercury in dental filling materials - an updated risk analysis in environmental medical terms.) The U.S. Centers for Disease Control - http://www.atsdr.cdc.gov/tfacts46.html Scroll down to section: How can mercury affect my health? Dear all,
Someone asked what symptoms of mercury toxicity are. Here's a website: http://www.homemakingcottage.com/hea...x_symptoms.htm Also, the first 5 or 6 symptoms listed on that site, under "Neurological symptoms" are also symptoms of multiple sclerosis, and a book on MS that I bought recently recommends the removal of amalgams as a step in treatment (as does the book Healthy Healing by Linda Page). Being a Maintaining cause, I too feel that the amalgum has to be removed for giving a cure and removing the bad effects of mercury poisoning

Subject: mercury poisoning
Dear all, This is sort of off topic but so prevalent that maybe it could help . . . I'm wondering if one needs to totally remove mercury fillings to deal with merc poisoning, or if they can just be half-drilled and covered with nonamalgam? I don't know if this is the kind of solution you're looking for, but I had a problem with mercury toxicity that I dealt with successfully without removing my fillings. The condition I developed that I traced to mercury poisoning was melasma (a hyperpigmentation of the skin referred to as chloasma in the old homeopathy books). My hyperpigmentation was in a classic distribution of forehead, nose, upper lip, and either side of the nose under the eyes. Although this is not usually consider a symptom of mercury toxicity my research led me to believe that heavy metals could be causing the problem so, when I talked to my homeopath/naturopath and asked if this could be a possible cause he said yes and suggested I do a cilantro cleanse. Cilantro (also called Chinese parsley or coriander leaf) is an herb used in Mexican, Indian, and Asian cooking. It has been found to chelate mercury from the tissues and, unlike other chelating agents, is able to pull mercury from nervous system tissue (or so I have read). Its chelating properties were discovered by a Dr. Omura who was doing research on treatment of micro-organisms with antibiotics. He found that many of his patients were excreting large amounts of mercury after a meal of Vietnamese soup that contained large amounts of cilantro. Later, he did a little experimentation with this and found that when people ate about 1/4 cup of cilantro they would excrete large amounts of mercury in their urine. If you do a search for Omura and cilantro you will find a lot of information on this. A Dr. Klinghardt has developed a protocol based on this research (although his program is very involved and, I think, unnecessarily complex). You can do a search on Klinghardt and cilantro to find out about his work. The treatment that was suggested to me and which I found to be very successful was this: --------------------------------------- Eat 1/4 packed cup of fresh chopped cilantro daily for 2 weeks During this time also take a tablespoon of bentonite clay twice a day (to bind with the mercury that is mobilized by the cilantro). To ensure that the mercury that is mobilized and bound will be excreted in a timely fashion make sure you are having at least two bowel movements per day during these two weeks Drink half your body weight in ounces of water (a 140 lb person should drink 70 oz of water a day) ----------------------------------------- All these steps are vitally important because you do NOT want to mobilize mercury from where the body has stored it and have it floating around to affect more vital organs. If you do not take the clay then the mercury won't be bound and excreted. If you do not have adequate bowel movements then the mercury will not be excreted quickly enough and will be reabsorbed from the colon. I also understand that it is important to eat a mineral rich diet because heavy metals will tend to bind at metal binding sites if the appropriate metal is not available to the body. I followed this protocol for 2 weeks and saw a dramatic fading of my melasma. I also saw a 20-year-long discomfort in my lymph nodes disappear. I did the cleanse five months ago and have not seen my symptoms return. I do think I'll do this again if I have to have a filling replaced (with composite, of course), but I feel the mercury in my fillings is not causing me any noticeable problems any more. I should say that some people I've talked with about this are very concerned about people doing this kind of cleanse without a doctor's supervision because of the danger of mobilizing mercury from places where it has been safely stored by the body. My feeling is that as long as the protocol is followed exactly the risk is not-existence. But that's must my opinion. I suggest you do your own research and make a decision based on that. Best of luck and please let me know if you have any questions. Karen |
