In fact, The Lancet notes, ""the debate continues, despite 150 years of unfavourable findings. The more dilute the evidence for homoeopathy becomes, the greater seems its popularity."

Bitter pill for city homeopath

Among those who came under the Central Bureau of Investigation's CBI scanner on Friday was Dr S P S Bakshi. He, in connivance with CCH vice president Dr Ramjee Singh and secretary Dr Lalit Verma, had allegedly abused their positions to grant recognition to several homeopathy medical colleges in violation of norms laid down by the Government of India.

In defence of homoeopathy

Some Indian practising homoeopaths are also to blame. They don't take pains to co-relate science with advances of modern science. Nobody takes pains to standardise science which is why this has happened. I would blame our Indians who go abroad and tell the world that there is no cure in homeopathy for pneumonia or rheumatoid arthritis.

A new lease of life for the Indian system of medicine

The Government of India has appreciated the need to regulate pharmacy practice in other system of medicine. It now proposes to establish central pharmacy council through Indian Medicine and Homeopathy Bill -- 2005. The bill proposes to regulate education and practice of pharmacists in homeopathy and Indian system of medicine like ayurveda, sidha and unani. Cabinet has already given its nod and now needs to be introduced in the
Parliament.

yes, in Pakistan too drug act 2005 is in parliament. The standing committee of health has approved it.
