NRI to set up $12 million homeopathy hospital

A non-resident Indian doctor Monday said he plans to set up a $12 million homeopathy hospital, college and research centre in Madhya Pradesh. Germany-based homeopath Rabi Roy, who has met Chief Minister Babulal Gaur in this regard, told reporters: "The plan envisages quality education, creation of healthy conditions and organic farming." The doctor said he has selected land for the proposed project. He had earlier planned to set up the hospital in the US. "But my love for India forced me to change my plans," he added.

IAPA reviews case of Mexican journalist killed in border city

Representatives of the Inter-American Press Association traveled to the border city of Juarez to review the case of a crusading journalist killed there in 1991, after Mexico agreed to reopen an investigation into the death, the group said Thursday. Columnist Victor Manuel Oropeza, who worked for El Diario newspaper and was also a homeopathic physician, often wrote about corrupt police and government officials and their possible links to drug dealers.

Homeo hospital in chronic disorder

Poor administration and lack of proper planning have turned the Homeopathic Degree College and Hospital HDCH in the city into a dysfunctional institution. The 100-bed lone government homeopathic hospital at Mirpur has never seen more than 50 patients admitted due to the absence of proper treatment, nursing and regular duty of doctors. Hardly 20-25 patients are admitted a day, hospital sources said.
