Default Hormonal Headaches

Does anyone know of a remedy that can take care of hormonal headaches.
Symptoms are:

a) Headaches one sided or frontal or top of head
b) Headaches on Day 5, Ovulation Day (14), and Day 21 of a 28 day cycle. Sometimes more often than that but all after Day 14, in the Luteal Phase.
c) Sounds make them worse
d) Stress makes them worse
e) Extreme irritability in the Luteal Phase

Thank you,
Rima

Rima,

Look at the periodical rems: Sab, chin, ars, Gels, Lach, Nux-v, Sep - see which fits.

Rima,

one more periodic remedy that you might want to add to Jeff's list of periodic remedies is Nat-m. Often useful for hormonal headaches, as he said....." which fits"

My daughter responded wonderfully to Lach for good number of complaints but continued to have stubborn extremely painful hormonal headaches the day or two prior to menses. She has had amazing results with Nat.m. The first few times she took Nat.m. she did not experience any relief however she had taken it at the time of the headache. Upon reading in Catherine Coulter's material I found out that it takes a few weeks for Nat m. to reach its potential. Now she takes Nat.m. at ovulation time and does not get periodic hormonal headaches, if she forgets to take it she consistently gets a nasty headache.

This is great for your daughter, but does it not mean that Nat Mur is working as a paliative, rather than curing her headaches?

Love and peace

Caroline I hoped that this quick comment of mine would not end in a debate about the curative / paliative action of homeopath for this situation but I should have known better than to wish for such. To to address your question.... I agree totally that it is not curative, it is just like your asthmatic child who has not had curative results with homeopath, lest wise not to this point, their has been some paliative help .... wouldn't it be nice if we lived in a perfect world and could find the curative remedy for both our children :-) yours with asthma and mine with hormonal imbalance but at this point paliative seems a better option then intolerable pain that one can not cope with, and definitely a better option than extremely strong toxic types of drugs ..... at lest with the homeopathy I feel the hormones are balanced for a period of time even if it is not yet permanent.......plus is it not true that we often need to repeat a remedy when the symptoms return?

ecause the imbalance occurs at ovulation time and/ or just after when the corpus luteum is forming but the symptom only becomes evident when the corpus luteum is nearing the end of its cycle and begins to degenerate and hence when the subsequent progestrone/estrongen imbalance occurs. If she needs the Nat m for the proper development of the coupus luteum how else can one know this if there are no symptoms for several weeks? Please let me know if you have any other knowledge or suggestions that might address this problem I am always open to new information.

But .. mostly I think the point that I trying to make here is that Nat.m. is a periodic remedy with a reputation of helping with hormonal imbalance but it is not the fast acting remedy that some are(like Belladonna for instance) I just wanted to pass on that bit of wisdom which it took me way to long before I found out :-)

Warmly Carol

Default hormone headaces/homeopathy

hello to all
one must remember to always go back to the indicated person having this 'headace'. counting everything not just what is indicated for hormonal headaces, starting from the patients own onset/personality traits/physical symptoms and some.
Homeopathy always works if done without a 'shortcut'.Otherwise it is done like an allopathic treatment"what do i take for a hormonal headace?"........
Have a classical homeopath find your constitutional remedy to start and go from there..............
