Default Homeopaths - NCH! Tsunami Disaster Relief

>From: "Kim" <kabwilli@ktc.com>

Hey guys, I bet you're chomping at the bit as much as I am wishing we could be over in SE Asia handing out remedies by the handful to Tsunami surviviors. I contacted NCH (amongst other Hom. orgs.) to find out if they are organizing any relief efforts for the Tsunami victims. I would love for homeopaths to unite worldwide in an organized way to be able to respond to disaster relief, as it is such a wonderful system of medicine to be used in this way - as a prophylaactic to ward off epidemics in the aftermath of the disaster (cholera and malaria in this case) and for the immediate mental , and physcial trauma of the survivors. Especially with the shortage of medical teams over there right now.

My suggestion to NCH was to contact some homoepathic organizations in SE ASIA and to send money directly to them if they are helping with disaster relief, and need some funds.

Please contact NCH and tell them your ideas on how we can respond in a unified way, and then alert the media!

I also pledged $100 bucks to send to whoever, just to convey to NCH that I am serious about this and it needs to happen now. I am waiting to hear who to send it to. Hopefully a homeopathic org over there who can step in and start doing some serious emergency homeopahtic relief. I do know that their BOD (board of directors) is meeting this week, since they have been getting many emails from homeopaths wanting to help out Tsunami victims.

Love, Kim Williamson

Here is how to email or call NCH Exectutive Director, Sharon Stevenson:

It WOULD be great. But, unfortunately, homeopathy, worldwide, is a drop in the bucket (almost an infinetessimal!) and is NOT generally recognized. That is the reality of it. The ONLY hope homeopathy has to help in this disaster would probably be in India where the system is established. It is NOT established in any way in Thailand. When 9/11 happened, a number of homeopaths went to help. The most qualified was Ed Schalts, MD, who is on the BOD of the NCH. He was turned away because (as I understand it) his training is not in emergency medicine and he wanted to use "alternative" approaches. I DO know of a number of homeopaths who were quite helpful in treating the aftermath of 9/11, but none did so *on site*.

In would be interested to know what the NCH can do in this. The powers that be in the world of emergency medicine/relief do not know about homeopathy and are, generally, not interested in learning. If you can't get a foot in the door there is no way to show them anything.

It is a sad situation.

Default homeopaths not respected

hello to all
yes i have found the same regards to volunteering as a homeopath for other emergency situations, got the same reply as mr. Winston mentions.
not an allopath, not emergency trained, and so on,yes i agree in the case of surgery, but tropical disease such as dysentery, cholera, malaria, typhoid and dengue fever homeopathy rules far above allopathic meds in everyway.
