Anything anyone has seen in the literature about homeopathic treatment curing someone of rabies? Clarke's, The Prescriber discusses what to do , but no cases Lillienthal lists therapeutics, but no cases
Anyone know of any cases that were prevented (when the animal was definitely rabid) OR any cases thought to be prevented or cured in other situations? Of course we know the remedies that come to mind, but has it been done? Sheri http://www.startribune.com/stories/484/5103033.html Wisconsin girl survives rabies without vaccination; a first, doctors say Juliet Williams, Associated Press November 24, 2004 RABIES1125 WAUWATOSA, Wis. -- A unique combination of drugs has made a 15-year-old girl the first known human to survive rabies without vaccination, doctors said. A team of physicians gambled on an experimental treatment and induced a coma in Jeanna Giese to stave off the usually fatal infection, said Dr. Rodney Willoughby, a pediatric disease infection specialist at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin. ``No one had really done this before, even in animals,'' Willoughby said. ``None of the drugs are fancy. If this works it can be done in a lot of countries.'' Only five people in the world before Jeanna are known to have survived rabies after the onset of symptoms, said Dr. Charles Rupprecht, chief of the rabies section at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. But they had received standard treatment - a series of rabies vaccine shots - before experiencing symptoms. Rabies, which attacks the brain and the nervous system, is considered untreatable with the appearance of symptoms, which include fever, headache, anxiety, loss of consciousness. ``Basically we had a race and Jeanna won. Her immune system won,'' Rupprecht said at a news conference Tuesday. Rupprecht said the CDC is reevaluating its approach to rabies in people, and scientists are studying what drug combinations might work in infected animals. Although the United States has only a few cases of human rabies each year, someone in the world dies of rabies every 15 minutes on average, Rupprecht said. Jeanna was infected when she was bitten by a bat while at church Sept. 12 but did not seek treatment. She began showing rabies symptoms Oct. 13 and was hospitalized two days later. Willoughby said the treatment, which includes two anesthetics and two antiviral medications, will have to be duplicated in another patient before it can be credited as a rabies treatment. Willoughby said he would not reveal the exact drugs used until a report is published in a medical journal. Doctors do not know whether Jeanna will have neurological or physical problems from the attack on her immune system. Doctors hope to release her from a rehabilitation ward by Christmas. Her parents said she stood up for the first time Tuesday and recognizes people when they came in the room. John and Ann Giese, of Fond du Lac, said they did not hesitate when doctors approached them about trying the experimental treatment. They already had been told their daughter probably would die. ``Miracles can happen,'' John Giese said. ``We believed it from day one. We had to convince everyone else.'' -------------------------------------------------------- Sheri Nakken, R.N., MA, Classical Homeopath http://www.nccn.net/~wwithin/vaccine.htm Last edited by jonh; 24th November 2004 at 09:56 PM. |

Why should this be an "either or" situation? You just might be risking the patient's life by not trying homeopathy. The problem, as I see it, is that most people die in spite of the vaccination and the best treatment available. I am thinking of a specific case a couple of years back, the son of a friend of a friend. It is a good idea to be prepared for whatever might happen. With a little ingenuity, remedies can be administered anywhere, even in the intensive care unit in the hospital.

Clarke , quoted Von Grauvogl , in his book "Constitutional Medicine" regarding the relative strengths of the immune system. Susceptibilty is high in some snd low in others .
In relation to sexually transmitted disease he said, "From the same woman on the same day - in deed in the very same hour , one may get a syphilitic ulcer , one a sycotic ulcer and one escape without any infection. The point is that some may be carried off by minor infections, some fight off serious complaints and some never be ill. To produce a person who can escape most or all ills it is necessary to treat homeopathically over some generations . Which is why the English royal family -- who have been treated for generations - should be public record!. One of the problems of today is that there has been so much pharmaceutical medication inflicted on the human race that it is much weaker on the resistance front , than it should be. Antibiotics, Vaccines , Tranquillisers , Pain Killers , all weaken the immunology of the race . However there will always be that 5% of the race that is immune to particular conditions - even AIDS !. So while as individuals we may fear extiction , as a race we may be confident of survival. |

I realize that this is an older post, but after a recent discussion, I started to do some research and haven't come up with anything substantiative. Perhaps someone here can help.
Until recently, I was part of a chat group, (TAV), moderated by a homeopath named Magda Aquila. In a rabies discussion, she asserted that there have been dozens of cases of rabies cured by homeopathy. When asked where those cases might be found, she became extremely argumentative and stated to do the research. I have tried, but to no avail. Others on the list attempted to find cases as well, but couldn't. This lady has a history of becoming very defensive if any of her advice is ever questioned, so I am not convinced that her assertions are valid. Can anyone point to a link or articles where I might find the research I am looking for? She stated dozens of homepathy cures for rabies could be found for either human or animal. Any help or advice would be most appreciated. 007momy |
