earlier this year I tried to rep a case for an old man who went deaf as a direct result of a bomb exploding next to him, and didn't get very far.. now, my nephew is partially deaf in one ear from having been punched! The doctors think it is a perforated ear drum and will get better. I have tried to find rubrics to reflect Ear blows to / injuries deafness due to injury / blow / concussion / loud noise And am getting no where basic knowledge says Arnica in the first instance, Calendula for damage to the ear drum Can anyone tell what the rubric is and where I can find it for deafness caused by either a punch (blow) and noise many thanks Caroline :-) Free Range Education The Book About Home Education :-) |

Hi Caroline,
The only possibility I find so far is: Perforation, tympanum: aur, calc, calc-i, caps, hep, hydr, iod, kali-b, kali-p, merc, merc-d(2), psor, puls, sil, sul-i, sulph, tell, tub, verb. But my guess is that those have to do with perforation as a result of infection rather than injury--? Shannon Last edited by jonh; 11th November 2004 at 10:30 AM. |

Hi Caroline
Clinical evidence from P. Banerji. Arnica 3c Deafness or hard of hearing developed from loud sounds like explisions of bombs, crackers, gun-firings, or constant ringing of big bells very close to ears. This is a sort of trauma to ear drums. But must be very recent, within 7 days of occurrence. Otherwise, the 200th potency has been more effective. Dose: twice a day re rubrics Shannons offering of perforated tympanum is relevant IF the eardrum is perforated, which you did not definitely state - only that they 'think' is the problem. Deafness from concussion can be found in this rubric >From Synthesis HEARING - IMPAIRED - concussions, from ARN. chinin-s. croc. hell. nat-s. EAR - PERFORATION - Tympanum aur. calc-i. calc-p. calc. caps. Elaps ferr-p. hep. Hydr. Kali-bi. Kali-p. lach. lap-a. Lyc. merc. Sil. sul-i. Sulph. tell. Tub. >From RU GENERALITIES - MODALITIES - CONCUSSION - agg. acet-ac. ACON. aeth. am-c. am-caust. ANAC. ARN. art-v. aur. BAD. bell-p. BELL. bry. calc-s. CALC. calen. camph. cann-s. caust. CHIN. chinin-s. CIC. cina COCC. CON. croc. CUPR. echi. euphr. ferr-p. FIL. gels. GLON. HAM. HELL. hep. HYOS. HYPER. ign. IOD. Kali-br. KALI-P. kola kreos. lac-c. LACH. land. LAUR. LED. LYC. m-ambo. MAG-C. mag-m. manc. MANG. meli. merc. mez. NAT-M. NAT-S. NUX-M. NUX-V. onos. OP. par. ph-ac. phos. pip-m. PLAT. PLB. PULS. RHUS-T. RUTA sang. seneg. SEP. SIL. SPIG. staph. stry-xyz. stram. sul-ac. sulph. SYMPH. TEUCR. valer. verat. verb. viol-t. VIP. zinc. HEAD - PHENOMENA - CONCUSSION of brain - objective ACON. aeth. am-c. am-caust. ARN. bell. calc-s. calen. chinin-s. CIC. con. cupr. fil. gels. glon. HELL. HYOS. HYPER. Kali-br. KALI-P. LACH. LAUR. nat-s. onos. OP. par. ph-ac. pip-m. stram. sul-ac. TEUCR. VIP. zinc. If you cross the 3 without the perforated tympanum (which may not have happened) you get Arn Chinnin. s If you cross concussion agg with perf tymp perfoation concussion agg aur. CALC. hep. IOD. KALI-P. merc. PULS. SIL. sulph. verb. some of the above ones would be useful if there was accompanying infection or if the perforation was due to infection, so may not be applicable I would be seriously looking at Arnica 3c myself, if it was recent, and making sure no infection occurs if there is a perforation - as this then causes complications and can compromise the hearing. Best to you Robyn Last edited by jonh; 12th November 2004 at 05:58 PM. |
