Default Lactation

I hv been treating a bitch for several years for false pregnancy and lactation. Though I manage to cut down its period of discomfort, the problem returns after 5/6 months when it again lactates heavily.

Urtica Urens has been suggested. However, on checking it out in my MM I see in one section it is recommended to increase the flow of milk and yet in another section it suggests its use to curb the flow. I should imagine it would depend on the potency used (like Sepia: to abort or ripen an eruption).

Would be grateful of any help.

Default Re: Lactation

Urtica urens in this situation is used in the low potency but it does not have periodicity! Many remedies display there opposites in action, so much so that some have recommended the the practice of refering to the rep for the antithesis when a rubric cannot be found.

From our experience : to stop lactation only Lac caninum is really effective.
To stimulate i give first lac defloratum and it always helps (30 K) . Urtica Urens need for me the history of the person (when we want to stimulate). There is nearly always a history of problem with the father (strange) and more specific the death of the father during pregnancy or something connecting with this situation. ( the idea comes from Grandgeorges Didier and i can confirm it from my practice...). In this cases lac defloratum will not really act... but only Urtica Urens...

Absolutely agree Lac can is good and Lac Vac Def is very useful - details of all the milk remedies can be found in Allens Mat Med Of Nosodes
