I am an MD doing right now general surgery since 5 months, I come to know homeopathy four years ago, so I started to study by my self and to practice it for service purpose, all the people that I treated them get benefit and amazing results which can be considered as a miracles in allopathic medicine happened in front of my eyes, so I am in love with homeopathy since that time , but I have a great conflict in my mind between doing a specialization in the Allopathic medicine or just study homeopathy without doing any specialization , MY question : I am asking for professional advice from professional homeopaths and alternative medicine practitioners ,if I really need to do any specialization in allopathic medicine before learning homeopathy and practicing it professionally , and if I do need to do one what it should be ?, of course that is all based on my dream and my goal of becoming a professional homeopath first of all. please I am asking for real help here, because I am one of a very very few people who know about some thing called HOMEOPATHY in my country especially in the medical society, when I talk to doctor friends of mine they really think that I am losing my mind !! they can not accept or even understand the principles of it. thank you all DR. Hello Dr Ezzat,
It is wonderful to discover homeopathy as you have done, and to see the miracles it can perform. My opinion would be that you don't need to specialise in allopathic medicine before becoming a homeopath. You are already an MD and as you complete your training as a homeopath and practice for a while you may find there is an area of health you would like to specialise in as a homeopath. For example - womens health issues;skin complaints; autism/aspergers - but this will reveal itself as you go on in practice. I am a general homeopathic practitioner as I love to treat any condition ,as in homeopathy you are essentially treating the person not the complaint. I hope that is helpful to you. Can I ask you which country you are in? Hi,
I was a conventional MD for 25 years, 17 of them spent as a general, thoracic and cardiovascular surgeon, so I know a wee bit what you are talking about. My *personal* answer is....it depends. Do you really love surgery as a speciality? Then you could become an excellent surgeon using homeopathy for many cases and surgery only when there is no other alternative and doing the pre and post-op with homeopathy. Is surgery not a big deal? Then while studying homeopathy in depth, if you have the time and desire, you could do a specialisation in Family Practice or Internal Medicine. Of course most of the classical homeopaths would say that you do not *need* that, but I found out that the more you understand about health and disease, the more effective you become as a homeopath. My life experience anyway. Dr. J. Rozencwajg, NMD. "The greatest enemy of any science is a closed mind".
