Having suffered for 1 year with bilateral
ovarian cysts and huge fibroids - causing excrutiatingly painful periods - and after attempting to treat the obvious hormone imbalance with acupuncture and cranial work and natural progesterone- and chemical medicines - to no avail - I submitted to the operation of last resort for a 45 year old -
a hysterectomy.

I healed very fast - was given HRT patches as sweats and flushes set in immediately - took off the required 6 weeks convalesence
returned to work - feeling pretty good and 10 pounds lighter.
3 months later have stopped being able to sleep through the night - waking consistently at 3am - struggling to sleep again until 6.30 when time to get up ! Feeling generally quite anxious during the day (without any specific reason) and not able to relax even after a great work out.
Have become quite worried about petty things and fears about the future seem constantly present together with fears of the "what-if " variety (fire flood etc!!)
Acupuncture helps but only for a short while - now have also developed a tendonitis type pain in my upper left arm - apparently due to something they did when moving me in hospital -
Work stress beginning to irritate me - although I used to thrive on it - very little patience in my stores!
My main concern is the lack of good sleep.
Have not found a good homeopath yet so am self prescribing. Am currently on a whole food and fruit type diet in case my sugar levels are the day time problem. Have been taking Arsen Alb for the fears and what-if's and Kali Carb to generally calm me. Does anyone have suggestions re the homeopathic
equivalent of sleeping pills?

yes we can tell you remedies for sleep but thats not the way homeopathy works
your sleeplessness is due to a imbalance , emotional, mental, and or physical......can you be more detailed as to your symptoms
what trauma you had previous to your reproductive imbalances????

If your ovaries is removed, the remedy is cimicifuga r use one dose 200, once in case. but if on hormonaltretment, its not certain it will work, cause your symptomes may be as a result of that medicine.

prior to the problems caused by the fibroids and cysts I was generally pretty healthy - worked out, swam occasionally, had good sex
have always had a stressful job - but thrived on it - have always taken responsibility for all around me - I lost my father 19 years ago, so a certain amount of role reversal ensued with regard to my (pretty young) mother - tend to take charge and look after everyone - I worry about everything for everyone else!! I do all the accounts and admin for my brother's business, manage my boyfriends' finances and look after my mother's "paperwork". No complaints as far as this is concerned - I enjoy being the responsible one and putting everything into order and organising (probably a secret control freak!)
Had a very secure and tough job for many years - then we were acquired by a major group - who relocated us out of london - I decided that I was too old for 4 hours travelling every day - took a sabbatical
for 6 months and then joined my present company where I only work 4 days a week and travel 10 minutes to and from the office - thereby an instant reduction in stress!
My symptoms started at about the time I started this new job - which could not be more fun? Every month I would be in terrible pain for the first 3 days of my period and then last year despite all sorts of medical intervention (removal of smaller fibroids hysteriscopically and treatment with Zoladex to reduce the size) my periods started occuring every 15 days and my blood pressure began to swing erratically from very high to very low. My GP put me on the lowest dose of amlodipine to control the pressure, as all other remedies both natural and diet related failed to control it. Eventually after spending 3 days of our 10 day New year holiday in Greece in considerable pain - I sought the advice of my gynaecologist again. He sent me for ultrasound, MRI blood tests etc, as he suspected ovarian cancer, and put me on anti-inflamatory drugs.
These tests came back inconclusive, and the drugs made me feel awful, so after much discussion I decided that the only way was the op. We agreed prior to the op that dependent on what they found they would do a partial or total and I agreed. When they performed the op my insides were in such a state (although the cysts proved to be benign)with fibroids growing through the bowel and stomach that they performed a total hysterectomy.
As I said the post op care and healing was wonderful, I had a minor problem with a stitch that did not want to leave me and contracted the usual infection whilst in hospital so was placed on heavy duty anti biotics for 2 weeks which gave me the normal stomach problems. I have a 6" downwards offcentre scar which has not given me any problems (except when it itches when it is about to rain?)
I have had some cranial work this summer to relieve the pain in the arm and am continuing with my acupuncture on a weekly basis. I am on the smallest dose oestrogen patch and I do notice when I am nearing the changeover time.
Although my nearest and dearest have been wonderful and are very empathetic - and the dog loves sitting on the sofa at 3.30 am whilst I listen to music and practice my breathing - I would love to start feeling more like myself again if not as a 30 year old at least as a healthy 40 year old!

Cimicifuga 200, one dose, once only, it works 20 days. app.
If you need more info, read a materia medica, but that dont help you, cause ordinary people have no use of the reading, cant understand why its picked, as some "homeopaths"....it is picked on your symptomes..but, under this layer, there may be a other , and that require a new remedie, just use this now, report back after 3 day, then regulary, and we shall she what symptomes are left, and what they require.OK?

Insomnia tends to come with the menopause and the change of temperament is associated with the hormone changes

Its a shame that you were not able to get proper Homeopathic help before the surgeons interfered as I know that the right combination works wonders

If Cimcifuga does not work you should find that Herbal St Johns Wort will correct the insomnia and get you back on an even keel then homeopathic treatment can cure the problems

Cool

have obtained the cimicifuga this afternoon and am very excited! The nice man at Nelssons also thought that hypericum could be of use specifically for the insomnia but agreed I should try the cimicifuga first. How long before any effect should be obvious -please advise so I know to be patient, as you suggested I take only one dose?

Is there more benefit from herbal hypericum (St Johns Wort) than homepathic hypericum or is simply that the effects are more pronounced)

Also I need suggestions as to how I locate a decdnt homepath in London - are there any sites you could suggest?

Thanks again for all you help - I have to say it felt better simply writing verything down - rather akin to a course in cognitive behaviour therapy!! - when I look at what I have written I realise why I am and have not for some time been feeling "myself"
