Dear all,
A close relative of mine has been suffering from tickling dry cough more with distress in throat ,pronounced in the evening aggravated when strained. Clinical results had revealed elevated Eoisniophilia count @ 9%. He hasbeen advised to take Ars Iod 6x 2 doses for six days . Please advise

I think you mean Eosinophilia......but no problem I know what you mean.

For this disorder it`s best to see a classical homeopath for full case taking, because several remedies are possible, depending on different symptoms/modalities. Arsenicum iodatum, which has the key uses asthma, influenza and hay fever, is only one of the possible remedies and may not be fully indicated. You mention too few details to tell.

Arsenicum iodatum is most appropriate for people who are irritable and restless. They are excitable and impatient and may have sudden, violent impulses. Their bodies are warm. The classic symptom picture for this remedy is of either great restlessness or total exhaustion, possibly associated with chronic chest infection and burning discharges from the mucous membranes. There may be a history of allergic and respiratory conditions. Ars. iod. is most often used for hay fever or the flu that is accompanied by the classic burning discharge, soreness of the mucous membranes and frequent sneezing. There may be a loose, short, hacking cough or a burning, sore throat associated with inflammation. This remedy may also be given for asthma and shortness of breath with rapid breathing that gradually becomes a wheeze.

Symptoms are better in open air and after eating. Symptoms are worse in dry, windy, cold or foggy weather, from the heat of the bed, from exertion and from tobacco smoke.
