I posted this on another forum, a homeopath there suggested I find one in my area trained with prescribing miasmatically. Which I'm working on; however, I'd still like your all's thoughts on this:
This is the basic story of what happened, over a course of 6 or 7 years. Started in 8th grade, I am 20 now. 1) Started getting horrible ear infections 2) Out of desperation tried orthodontic retainer, noticed it made them completely disseapear (at first) 3) Bugged orthodontist enough about to get a splint made. Worked Great. 4) Went in for checkup, orthodondist messed up splint when he tried "adjusting" it. 5) He kept brushing me off and wouldn't fix it. 6) Never got ear infections again, but started getting extreme feelings of tightening in my neck, arms, upper back, and cranial muscles (tendons felt like steel wires) 7) Finally found a TMJ specialist, have had another two splints made. They worked great at first. 8) They have both slowly lost effectiveness. Now they only seem to work when I'm lucky. ------ I've tried several remedies, researching them myself. Oleum Animale 30C - What I currently use. Feels like it's getting to the root of the problem (whatever it is), but only works temporarily. The fix that it triggers doesn't "stick." If I use it constantly over a couple of days, the disease starts trying to come out as a sore thoat - at least it feels that way. After the sore throat, i'll be fine for a while, but then the old TMJ symptoms start creeping back up again. Agaricus Muscaria - Similar Reaction to Ol-an, but doesn't work as well. Phytolacca Dec - Gave me a horrible, raging, burning sore throat of doom. Causticum - Super mellow feeling for about 5 minutes, that was it. Verbascum Thapsicum - Nothing. ------------- It's my feeling that it was somehow caused by the orthodontia my parents made me go through. Also, when I was about 8, I fell face forwardon a slippery tile floor and landed square on my jaw. --------------- Worse: Frustrating Situations Certain foods will trigger it - Mainly grains, except for brown rice and millet. Wearing black or navy blue shirts, these also make my sking itch like CRAZY Or paradoxically, situations of boredom Being around familly. It's weird, I get along with them fine, but just being around them makes the TMJ act up. Better: Grinding teeth or chewing gum, that sort of thing. Helps in the moment, but makes it worse in the long run. Having some sort of interesting project to keep my mind occupied. Dissonant/Complex Music (especially stuff like this: http://www.bleep.com/player.php?track=ZIQ111CD_DM-10) Being with friends, especially while talking about things I like - math/physics. ------------ And here's a picture of me: http://is3.okcupid.com/users/178/396...96699436198/p1 173068606.jpg If that doesn't work, go here: http://www.okcupid.com/profile?u=EricABDL Then click on "pics" near the top of the center frame. -------- Thanks for any help. I will be available to answer any questions as well. |

An orthodontic retainer made WHAT disappear?
What are you bored about? What are you allergic to re: your family?

1) The ear infections
2) I get bored when I don't have some interesting idea that I can keep in my mind and play with. 3) Not sure, I've never had an allergy test done. Wheat and corn are a trigger for the TMJ symptoms. I think the deal with my framily is that there is always some sort of moronic drama going on with them and my mom, especially, keeps trying to drag me into all those bad feelings, so I just avoid them. My dad is allergic to cat, american red cedar, and some other stuff that I don't remember. Those are the two main ones. To clarify, the TMJ symptoms are muscle constrictions that move around my head, neck, arms and upper back. It feels like they always start at my jaw joint. When they are in my neck, the nerves in there get squeezed, causing a shooting, burning pain to run down that side of my body. The symptoms only appear on one side of my body at a time. |

The suppression from Orthodontic work has resulted in these symtpoms, but the basic problem was the tendency to ear infection.
A good homeoapthic remedy should be able to overcome the retainer effect - (I'm not complete cure what that is - will read it up) - and then you will start getting ENT infections again for a little while before cure takes place. SO besides the present symtpoms, your present mental state and lifestyle (ed: especially your problems with family interaction), what will be investigated for a good remedy are the expression of the 'horrible' ear infection. Surgery proves to be a very hard obstacle to overcome - in that it takes a long time to work around this miasmatic block.

Dr. Leela and others:
I had an improvement after the Tub Bov 200C. Now my homeopath is having me take Rhus Tox 30C (4 pills x 3 times a day). After taking it for two days, I started feeling miserable with completely new symptoms appearing. Shouldn't old symptoms start returning, not completely new ones start popping up? |

There isn't any need to change the remedy right now. If tub was healing, she has to continue with it.
An acute remedy for pain is not indicated in your case as the problem is not due to any injury or acute problem. It is chronic and the remedy is the indicated chronic remedy Right now it seems to be Tuberculinum. And later, when old symtpoms some up that are not covered by tuberculinum, she needs to find the indicated consitutional remedy. (Tub. may be it however). All the best! dr. leela
