Default Homeopathy - relevant for singers?

I am a fourth year student in the UK researching the relevance of homeopathy for singers. Have any of you treated any singers for a vocal-related ailment or for a non-singing ailment. Was there any effect on the voice? Were they satisfied with their treatment?

I'd be grateful for any input you can give.

Hello Apricot,

Several remedies are possible for loss of voice. Constitutional case taking by a classical homeopath is usually necessary, but sometimes a specific remedy is possible.

Homeopathic treatment of loss of voice and other voice problems (e.g. voice breaking during singing ) is usually possible.

Some of the main problems are : loss of voice on account of excessive heating of the body or overuse of the voice, loss of voice or hoarseness from too much singing or shouting, sudden loss of voice or hoarseness in professional singers or public speakers (after lengthy speaking), loss of voice with hoarseness after a debilitating disease, sudden hoarseness brought on by cold, loss of voice from psychological or inflammatory causes, loss of voice from drinking cold water or beverages, loss of voice from laryngitis with constant hawking etc.

Too much to post it all here !

Wim

Dear Wim,

Thank you very much for the information
I am searching for 'evidence' that homeopathy has helped singers. Have you treated singers in your practise, if so, could I get some case information from you (with the permission of your patients of course).

Many thanks

Hello Apricot,

Unfortunately no full cases of loss of voice in singers.

I can remember 2 clinical cases of sudden loss of voice I dealt with already some time ago.

One concerned a dog that lost his bark due to laryngeal paralysis and he was treated clinically with Causticum 30c, twice a day for some days and this worked very well.

The other case was a (human)patient (not a singer)for whom I prescribed on some keynotes, which were ; larynx sensitive to the touch and pain in the throat running up to ears, paralysis of vocal cords and perhaps a few more....can`t remember all of this case. Patient was given Lachesis 30c, which needed to be repeated a few times.

Both cases were fully cured very quickly.

Sorry I can`t tell you more.....perhaps other colleagues on the forum can mention some cases ???

Wim
