Hi Carlene,

For this problem your friend really needs to see an experienced classical homeopath who will take her full case in order to find the correct constitutional remedy.

An allergy is defined as a condition that is caused by an inappropriate or exaggerated reaction by the body`s immune system. Harmless substances are misidentified by it as potentially dangerous, so the immune response is to form antibodies. These attack the perceived irritants (allergens) on the surface of the offending substance. The reaction between antibodies and allergens stimulates the release of substances within the body, such as histamine, which cause a variety of irritating symptoms.

Constitutional treatment is used to correct imbalances in the body and to discourage the immune system from overreacting.

The choice of constitutional remedy will largely be determined by your friend`s individual symptoms.

Dietary measures/changes may also be necessary. Allergies tend to become worse if a person has a poor diet or is stressed, overtired or doesn`t get adequate exercise.

Much more could be told about this subject but it`s really too much to post it all here.

Wim

Another possible way to help allergies is to balance histamine levels. Orthomolecular uses nutritional supplements to balance histamine levels. You can search to see what type your friend may be. High histamine types or histadelics are usually allergic to animals or have seasonal allergies while low histamine or histapenia are likely to have food allergies.

Natural anti-histamines are vitamin C and amylase. Amylase is a digestive enzyme.

I think Carlene`s friend should post her case here herself, if possible ! But unfortunately she still hasn`t responded !
