I've been asked many times here, over the years, about where to study homeopathy. Well, there is a new homeopathic college called the Oxford College of Classical Homeopathy (OCCH). I thought this information would be of interest to those in UK who wish to study classical homeopathy. Especially since there are so few good colleges around! Their link is www.occh.co.uk or http://www.purpleventure.com/occh/ When you click on their link - have a look at the Prospectus. They offer a Licentiate course. It takes place over a period of three years - part-time. There is an option to do the first year by correspondence. The course fee is all-inclusive and covers the full cost of the course, administration, clinical training, supervision, student clinic, first-aid training and qualification, Anatomy & Physiology, Pathology & Disease, and seminars. The only costs not covered are personal copies of text books and student insurance. (The student registration fee is paid for you). The course fees are fixed for the duration of your 3 year course (fees won't go up once you're part way through the course). Here is a brief outline: * 3 year/45 weekend part-time course * Philosophy seminars (with Sheilagh Creasy) * Student Clinic/Live Patients (2nd/3rd year) * Materia Medica * Supervision of cases * HSE First Aid qualification (recognised by insurance companies) * Anatomy & Physiology * Pathology & Disease * Professional tuition in business practice * Comprehensive preparation for registration Practically speaking - one would attend the college for 45 weekends over a 3 year period (it breaks down to 15 weekends each scholastic year - approx 3 weeks apart). During study-weekends there will be formal lectures, debates, seminars, along with clinics (2nd/3rd yr students), and workshops. Each subject is presented in a different format to enable students to learn easily and at their own pace. Anatomy & Physiology starts in the 1st year, while Pathology & Disease begins in the 2nd year; both are expanded on during the Clinical Training to the end of the course. Insurance comes in the second year along with a first aid certificate. In between the study-weekends - students are given set texts to read, or set a task to research -- all with the aim to augment what has been taught AND to prepare for the subsequent study-weekend/s. Personally, I wish this course had been available when I first started studying. It's one of the best available for people in UK. This course has been set up from a student's perspective (taking everything into account that needs to be done in order to practice) -- making it stress-free. If anyone decides to attend - please let me know how it goes -- and how you find things. Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas! Lisa Annan
