Any input into my desperate situation would be greatly appreciated. I am a 30 year old woman and 10 years ago I was sexually assaulted - as a result have suffered from the following symptoms... please excuse the graphic description. The whole of my external genitalia region (vulva/clitoris and entrance to vagina) is swollen to 3 times its usual size, is raw and red with shooting nerve pain and burning heat. I can neither walk or sit comfortably, sexual relations are obviously out ot the question and I can barely sleep because of the pain. Allopaths have classified it as 'vulvodynia' or 'vulvar vestibulitis' and have stated that beyond painkillers there is nothing to be done. Needless to say I have no quality of life and am considering drawing it to a conclusion. I have tried numerous complimentary approaches over the years and am currently under a homeopath but don't seem to be making much headway although I think very highly of him as a person. I believe the following remedies have been tried... sepia, sulph, aur, caus, plat, puls, caul, nit-ac, bell, and kreos.... slowly working our way through the materia medica Even prior to this event I did have an uncomfortable relationship with how I felt about sexuality in general and had a problem with copious amounts of discharge and thrush growing up. I do not feel from a mental perspective there are any lingering issues from 'what happened'... but it did all hurt tremendously from a physical perspective at the time. Please do let me know if there are any remedies or further suggestions that you have as life is now intolerable. Many thanks to you.

I would suggest Staphysagria, for the following reasons (decending order of importance):
1) Ill effects after insults or abuse,
2) Desire for death/tired of living
3) Physical symptoms

I would even prescribe Staphysagria on the grounds of no 1 alone (please discuss this with your homeopath)

Hello Hollie,
I'm sorry to hear about this, it must be terrible.

I think Chistiaan has a good suggestion here. It would be well worth a try if you respond.

I also think it would be important to understand your other issues of the past to have a good remedy.
Did you homeopath consider those?

All the best,
doctorleela

Hello Hollie

I was really sorry to read about this distressing condition you are suffering from.

I have a colleague who is involved with the VPS and if you would like to speak to her please email on Icemidgley@btopenworld.com

You could also try www.vul-pain.dircon.co.uk

I hope you manage to get some relief from Homeopathy- fingers crossed!

Staphysagria is a good selection. It will cover the whole state. But remedies like Arnica, bellis per etc also may be needed in different stages during the treatment. You can proceed according to the advice by your Hompath.

Many thanks to you all for your input. I have tried Staphysagria and Apis but to no avail. It is sometimes hard to judge as literally every few minutes a different sensation comes to the fore.... whether it be searing heat, numbness or nerve pain and the area has a total mind of its own. If I had to identify the predominant 'issue' it would probably be the swelling (3 times the size was probably a conservative estimate). Over the years I have been unable to establish a pain pattern in terms of triggers or anything at all that relieves it... although it does seem to get a little better during my period. There are also issues 'just inside' but these pale into comparison with the problems in the external area. I have also tried coll, tarent and lil... I have monitored the websites dedicated to vulvar pain but it is pretty bleak reading - thank you for the suggestion all the same. My homeopath did take into account the existing problems I had before the onset of this one when prescribing. Please do post/contact me should anything else spring to mind... I am continually tying knots at the end of my rope in order to hang on Wishing you all the best.

The improvement from discharge could be a good pointer towards Lachesis. It would also cover the dispondency, physical symptoms, swelling etc. The white mucous discharge are also typical.
Good luck.

if you didn't use Bellis Perennis, you can try.As the main cause is trauma. It covers trauma of pelvic organs, exudation, swelling, venous congestions, injuries to deeper tissues etc.Arnica also.
Other remedies think of are Berberis,Thuja.
