Some Doubt for Expert homeopath

My friend is recently suffering from dry cough. He has taken alopatheic option but to give relief only for a short duration so recently he turned to a homeopath (online). He has been adviced to take the following medicines:-

Nat Sulph 6x+Kali Mur 6x (2,2 pills each in warm water- Single dose).

Hephar Sulph 200 (dilution taken in half cup water).

Each medicine for 4 times a day for 2-3 months.

My Question is:-

1> Though I have no knowledge of Homeopathy, I have chance to read a book where it was said BioChemic has side-effect and it should be taken for a short duration.
So, does he has the possibility of exposing to side-effect?

2> what is the function of Nihillium 30? -Notrelated to the topic.
