The cure is a strict diet (See various PCOS sites on the web) of high protein, low carbohydrates + a constitutional remedy given after a full case taking to find a remedy for you as an individual rather than a disease name. This doesn;t resolve itself overnight. It took a while to appear and will take a while to go!!

Thanks for the reply Ricky.

I have visited a lot of web sites about PCOS and that makes me feel that it is a very complicated condition with the possibility of life threatening side effects such as heart problems, diabetics etc.

It appears to me that in Allopathic treatment there is not a complete cure, and they only can treat the symptoms (irregular periods, male pattern hair growth and loss, over weight, acne etc..)one by one that too with a lot of side effects.

I have poly cystic ovaries but until recently I didnt have any symptoms. I was not over weight and everything was normal.

I dont have all these symptoms. I have never been over weight. I was trying hard to put on weight before as I was very thin.

But recently I started to get irregular periods and that is how I found out about the cysts. I understand that in my case, symptoms are just starting to show up such as I get hair growth on my face (very little at this stage), and I am gaining weight.

If I start on a homeopathic medication now, will it be possible to reverse these symptoms I already developed or will it just only prevent from getting further problems. Is it treatable with homeopathic medication?

I am prepared to control food but if I have a hormone imbalance, how hard I try it is not going to make any difference.

Currently I am on alopathic medication. I am just wondering if there is any medication in homeopathi that can control or cure this condition.

Hi Seba,

Yes homeopathy can completely correct PCOS and especially that you have hardly any major complication. The important thing is to be put on correct treatemnt which as Ricky said above, is the Similimum. This remedy is based on a detailed homeopathic history and helps you not just at the ovarian level, but at the emotinal level and reduces stress. This is what gets your hormonal levels into a balance again.

The diet control is very often individual. You may visit a famous thread here on Bettina. But not everyone has elevated Insulin levels and requires this strict diet. But you could get that checked out, especially if you are overweight.

The allopathic treatment is generally high progesterones that produce a withdrawal bleed but also prevent cysts from forming and try to reduce the long term effects of this condition on the ovary. For conception, Clomid is used to help ovulation. But as you can see, these medicines are supplementary and cannot cure.

I would strongly advise you to take homeoapthic treatment. Almost (if not) all my patients with PCOS have been greatly benefitted by homeopathy.

Warm regards,
Doctorleela

Hi Dr. Leela

I appreciate your time answering my question.

Now I got almost all my doubts clarified. I will be consulting a homeopath very soon.

I would like to know if it is possible to reverse the effects of the symptoms I already developed such as over weight, facial hair etc.

Thanks a lot.

Sebah

Facial hair sometimes takes time to respond. ITs often better to start with waxing or Electrolysis.

Overweight needs diet restriction in addition to a remedy as Ricky mentioned above, high protein and low carbohydrate is the most accepted one today. If you are overweight it may be worth getting a furthur hormonal profile ( Dheas, Testosterone, Fsh, Lh, Prolactin)done and also your insulin levels.

Doctorleela

Th thread is on the discussion forum but you really need to search the archives for the original thread where all Bettina's history can be found.
I have also had success with PCO with periods becoming regular again.
