Dear Rosanna
it is verry important to keep an eye on the intake of infested water, even one drop will start the 'runs',even if it means watching your kids as they brush their teeth. Also as they shower or take baths the mouth needs to be tightly shut. To do your homework regards this problem is the best suggestion i can make, taking a homeopathic kit is a good idea for sure (i have had myn for over a decade, has saved my life many times)............. here are a few of the possible remedies that might come in handy; ars, acon, coloc, ipec, merc c, merc s,nit a,nux v,..................many many more it all depends on the symptoms. The Emergency kit you have of 36 is not enough, i would buy the one from Washington Homeopathics the kit contains 50 remedies, verry small compact box 3"x5". here isa link; www.homeopathyworks.com An addition take a bottle of "charcoal pills" with you, works on all types of loose bowels to neutralize toxins. I think a good quality probiotic would be handy to have with you during your travels. Also I think digestive enzymes can help too. Sometimes we can experience some mild diarrhea or loose stools because when we change our diet (in a new country) the bacteria population may change as a result. So making sure your body is able to break down the food you do eat so that it doesn't ferment and cause gas or other upsets, may be helpful. Some people think after a certain age you need to take digestive enzymes with meals. There isn't any harm in using some broad spectrum enzymes with meals.
The probiotics I use are by Dr. Ohirra who is a microbiologist (not a medical doctor) who developed his own strain of bacteria which is stronger than the other lactic acid bacteria. He won an award in Japan and his product Dr. Ohirra's 12 plus lactic acid probiotics also won an award. (These do not need to be refrigerated. Some good quality probiotics do need to be stored at a certain temperature to remain viable.) The problem is that it can be hard to use homeopathy when you don't know the exact symptoms but are anticipating some. But it is good to be proactive though. I know there are a couple that help with diarrhea like arsenicum, but the other symptoms would have to match. You might actually get a number of remedies that you would have to bring with you and the information on those remedies. I wonder if that is what you really want. |

In whatever you already have, I would recommend addition of Camphor-30C. It is a wonder medicine in watery diarrhea and vomiting caused by bad water or whatever and covers subnormal body temperature as result of excessive loss of fluids.
