Unhappy Pls Pls someone reply - very itchy, sleep deprived 6 month baby

Hi All,

I have been posting regularly on forums since the last 4 months regarding my baby boy and unfortunately despite some degree of success, we're still struggling with his symptoms. I have been to 2 homeopaths with no luck and am now so frustrated, can't bear to watch him suffer anymore.

The short of it is that he's tried quite a few remedies directly and indirectly through me as I'm bfeeding and the only ones that really had any effect at all were Lyc and Calc-C. Lyc is the only one that has resulted in an improvement in his eczema (red, itchy, dry on forehead, nose and scalp) - so I went back to that recently. He was given a couple of doses of lyc 30c which helped with his sleep and his skin. His sleep initially got better but after a few dyas had passed, the effect wore off and he began getting disturbed again, crying out in his sleep and waking every hour. We then gave another dose of 30c which immediately resulted in an improved night (not fully but much better) which wore off after a couple of days again. My homeopath then suggested lyc 200c which ws just the last straw - his eczema came back with a vengeance, he is sleeping very very badly and is spitting up again as well.

Not sure what happened, whether it was a proving or an aggravation. I feel he is teething as well as he is drooling constantly (pls see my other post teething help) wonder whether the sleep is getting affected by that.

It has been almost 2 weeks no and the itchiness won't let up. I gave him some cham 30c because he was very irritable and better from being carried around - helped a little with his sleep but nothing drastic yet.

Please someone guide me - a very tired and worried mom

Dear Worried mom
Eczema is a violent force, specially for such a tiny tot. Normally if the action of the well indicated remedy selected is showing signs of working you will get an aggravation of sorts, meaning the symptoms will prob. get worse before better,it needs to be expelled that is a good indication.

The jump from 30 to 200c is a big jump perhaps a prooving could of happened, your homeopath should be able to answer this for you. If the child is sensitive to extreme change of potency its best to up the potency by method of succussion .Less aggravation.Or use the LM potency.
If not fully monotored the wrong direction may occur in the healing treatment.

lyc works in the system for 40-50 days.
antidotes are; camph,puls,caust.
should be given in not to frequent doses.

Smile Thanks Gina

HI Gina,

Thanks so much for your reply - I appreciate it.

Do you think then that lyc is the right remedy then? What is your suggestion, should I give him one dose of LM or another dose of 200c after succussion? OR most difficult of all, should I just wait and watch?

Do you think giving him the cham. hindered the remaining action of the lyc 200c? My only concern is that it's not only the eczema that has returned - all of his previous symptoms - spitting up curdled milk, disturbed sleep, sour stool/perspiration which led us to lyc - have come up again.

My homeopath is on holiday and her reply to my enquiry was that this could not be an aggravation and that I should look for environmental factors that may be contributing. I haven't changed anything in his environment so I'm not sure that's the reason. She did not mention a proving possibility.

Pls advise. Thanks once again

Hello again
Perfect............all the old symptoms have returned is good! that's what you want to happen............. dont do anything to interrupt the lyc action. Wait for your hom. to return for futher consultation, dont self prescribe it might confuse the case.

Default Sounds good..

Ok thanks Gina,

I will try to be patient - so difficult being a mother! So the chamomilla wouldn't have interfered right? i gave him 2 doses of cham 30c, one in the morning and one at night. No harm done?

Take Care

Default Oops

...the reason I thought I was ok to give cham was because before my homeopath left she mentioned giving it to him for teething if it got really bad. Also on a prior occasion, he woke up screaming at night after every half an hour (during the lyc) and she told me to give him some if it continued which I didn't end up needing.

I didn't see cham as an antidote to lyc in the reference I was using - I guess you learn from experience.

OK so if I have antidoted now, what is your suggestion? My homeopath is not due back for another couple of weeks unfortunately.

Appreciate your thoughts, thanks!

Hello again
Find another homeopath,A trained classical homeopath should of know this, unless the antidote was meant on purpose, but that should of been explained to you in the process.Who is taking over while she/he is gone?Someone there must have the file on your casetaking? These discussion forums are for that "discussion",its much too difficult to consult here on line without no knowledge of the entire caseload/history of patient.

www.homeopathic.org
directory of homeopaths for each state.

Hi Gina,

Nope no one in her absence. I'm afraid I've already seen the 2 homeopaths who were relatively nearby and have spent almost $1000 already - and can't afford to spend much more. Would you able to guide me better if I gave you some detail or do you think it would be difficult online?

I appreciate all your help so far, thanks!

Hi, just what did happen to the child when yopu gave Cham 30c?
When dealing with children and energy medicines nothing is written in stone.
Some of the reference books and MM's we use have Cham as an antidote to Lyc, Kent does, Boericke does not, for example. But in both books 'Relationship of remedies' list Cham as antidoting Lyc.
I think that a 30c may not do too much antidoting against a 200c of a longer acting duration.
The same goes for Coffee, some swear it antidotes right away, on some people this is true , BUT not all!
It is not wise to mix remedies and it is torture to watch your child having a reaction especially a worsening one, but unless this lasts for longer than 24hrs or the temperature is dangerously high , try to ride ot out, Been through this myself, and know what its like.
regards
