I'm sure I didn't spell that correctly, bare with me. My third baby is 5 months old. With the first, I lacked periods for 12 months, with the second child it was 18 months. I'm expecting to go awhile this time as well. Here in the States the philosophy is "that's what you get for breastfeeding".
Do other women around the world experience lack of sexual desire and discomfort during intercourse while lactational ammenorheaic? Is there something missing in my diet? My constitutional remedy is Ignatia.

Dear Mamma3,

If you are familiar with Homeopathy, then research the remedy "RHUS TOXICODENDRON" ; or "RHUS-T" for short.

SOME OTHER REMEDIES TO CONSIDER: borx, Calc, Calc-p, chin, nit-ac, Pall,Sil.

If you need help , then post more information pertaining to the characteristics of your situation.

I personally can't remember any problem but it was a while ago. Why not try your constitutional remedy low potency for a week.

Amennorrhoea during lactation(breast feeding) is a physiological process not a disease. It will not effect the sexual field as you suspected.

Is Ammenenorhia (spelling) just lack of mentrual period) I delivered a healthy child and breastfed only for one year - I then introduced pureed homegrown food for the next six months along with four or five breast feedings. I was without my periods for a total of 27 months...I was thrilled!!!! My daughter grew to be a normal height and weight - she does not crave soda or sweets - loves fruits and vegs, and I am now on my way to menopause.....I look back on those days as carefree and glad for the time without Tampax!!!!

Is it my imagination or is the Women's Health Forum just a little catty?
Yvonne, congrats on going 27 months w/o a period. While personally I enjoy not having to worry about the Tampax, my husband wishes that I was more interested in him.
PANNAKKAL I realize that amennorrhea is not a disease, but I thought that other women might have a different view on how to handle their lack of sexual desire. I was under the impression that other countries viewed breastfeeding as more of a natural process and thought perhaps someone would have information on this. Breastfeeding is a lost art in the U.S. and hence much of the canvas is missing.
Johnstanton, thank you for your choice of remedies. I think China sounds promising. I've been taking Ignatia 200c, three tabs twice daily for about a week now for an ailment which I believe was stress induced. Can I continue to take Ignatia twice daily and take China as well? What potency? Most of my experience is with 12x, would something higher work better? And do you think three times a day, at least for the first day or two?

Yes please stop the repeating of Ignatia 200. This is a very high dose to be repeating unless you have a serious acute and then only repeat when the effects of the remedy wear off. have you not had any aggravations from the Ignatia?

Well, I did not take the Ignatia today and my symptoms did not return as they had when I tried discontinuing it before. I have noticed my face breaking out. Is this a sign of aggrivation?
I know that taking more than one remedy at a time is not the Classical approach, but was recommended by my Holistic Practitioner. I was reluctant to take the high potency for a lengthy amount of time until this past ailment.

I think you cannot compare brest feeding to artificial feeding.1.It is sterile
2.It is perfect food and supplies all the vitamines that are necessorry.
3.Mother's milk is best adapted to the digestive capacity of the child.
4.It confers some immunity to child.
About your problem ,please study sepia, nat.mur, agnus etc
