I have been in pain for well over two years now and the doctors still don't know what it is - which brings me to this forum. The pain is in my lower (pelvic) region and has led to diagnosis (and removal) of TWO benign ovarian tumors, as well as diagnosis of an esophageal erosion, a local (I lived in Nicaragua) parasite in the colon - I believe it was either roundworm or whipworm, either way I was treated with Mebendazol and Albendazol and the parasite was also removed - and most recently diverticulosis and a small cyst on my kidney. None of these things explain my pain and my pain is NOT relieved when they are treated. My doctors are COMPLETELY baffled, which makes me think it could possibly be some sort of tropical parasite that they did not catch in the colonoscopy. As I said before, I lived in Nicaragua from 94-2004, but I also spent several weeks to months there every year since I moved back to the States. This pain did not start until I came back in 2004 after having spent over two months there. It also started when I got off of birth control pills, which is why the docs went straight for my ovaries. I have been trying to do research but it is very hard when I don't know what I am looking for. Therefore - if ANYONE knows ANYTHING about tropical parasites that would cause these symptoms, I would greatly appreciate you sharing your knowledge! Thank you, Sarah |

Dear Sarah/ Chela,Its difficult to tell here on line what the problem might be. I have done work in the tropics as a volunteer homeopath and also lived there with my family for years,i have loads of documentation on tropic related ailments but you mentioned this occured since 2004 after a hormone related change, this complicates the matter,it might not be at all related to a tropical worm. Best advice is to make an appt with a trained homeopath near you in the area......... www.homeopathic.org

I agree with Gina (off cause) and if you can see a homeopath in your area this is the best. There are many remedies for your complains, there are many remedies for worms and many for ovaries problems but we need the complete picture of the case. I assume that you are not familiar with Materia Medica and therefore I will not suggest any remedies to study as you have to understand what is behind and the language of the remedy descriptions. See a homeopath and he will help, sorry or she will help (here in Germany most homeopaths are female)
