Default Yellow Semen

About 7-10 yrs ago my semen changed from normal white to yellow. Is there anything I should be worried about? Is this normal? Is there anything I can do homeopathically?

Im 31, caucasian and in good health.
I have no other problems. Erections fine, sperm count good, healthy sex life with no issues. Conceived two children with this condition.
During my late teen years and early 20's I took 4 courses of Accutane, which is a serious Acne drug. Here is a piece I copied from a website stating the side effects of accutane.

"Now Accutane has been linked to an increased occurrence of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), Crohn's Disease, Ulcerative Colitis, Irratable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) Musculoskeletal Disorders, Multiple Sclerosis, Diabetes, Hepatitis, Hepatotoxicity, Liver Damage, Kidney Damage, Birth Defects, Fetal Death, and Lupus."

Ever since I stopped the fourth dose my urine has had a very bad smell to it and is very dark yellow (unless I have drank alot of fluids). I think the semen may have changed colour somewhere around this time but I cant be exact as to when. The Doctors used to do blood work before prescribing Accutane. Im not sure if they were testing my liver or my kidneys. Well the last course I was taking they said that my levels were nearing the danger zone and this would be the last course I would be able to take.

I would be very grateful if someone here could possibly start a conversation with me to find a solution to this.
Thank you kindly.

Dear Ryelink
Welcome to the forum
Interesting post,As jacob mentioned the meds (accutane) can still be in your system. I have a dear friend who did the same in her 20's she had bad acne took accutane,in her 30's wanted children and was sterile, had to adopt. So its wonderfull you did manage to produce children. But then again it does more harm to the female taking accutane (reproductive organs). So in her case yes the damage was still there 10+yrs later.

I answered the questionairre about my personality. Hope this clears things up a little.

GENERAL QUESTIONS
6. Environment: With regard to the seasons, weather, outdoor temperature, indoor temperature, drafts, air quality, airconditioning, ocean air, mountain air, humidity, the sun/rain/thunderstorms/clouds/fog, etc.: what environmental factors give you comfort and relief, and which ones cause discomfort and distress? Try to give examples.

I enjoy the cold weather when I get headaches. I enjoy all seasons but the coldness/darkness of winter gets to me after a while. Love thunderstorms, not sure why. I am best in evenings, this is when a headache will leave me.

7. What position is most uncomfortable for you?

Not sure what is meant here.

8. a)Do you tend to be chilly or warm? Are there parts of your body that are colder or warmer than the rest of you? Is there a special time of day or night when they are colder or warmer? b) Do you perspire a great deal? If so, when? And where on the body? (feet, head, hair, chest, armpits, etc) Does it leave a stain of a particular color? Is there a particular odor?

I tend to be warm. Sleep without covers a lot. Sweat a lot in general all over the body but especially on the forehead. No particular colour to the sweat and no real offensive odour.

9. Describe what your tongue looks like.

It usually has a thin white coating. Fat tongue.

MENTAL/EMOTIONAL
10. What do you worry about? How do you deal with
worries?

I worry about my 2 sons. Their health, their future, their safety. I just keep doing my best for them.

11. How do you keep your house/your desk/your room/your study/your bathroom?

My life is a complete disaster. I am totally unorganized and a slob. I try to get reorganized after I cant find the simplest of things but then I revert to my old ways. I absolutely hate this about myself.

12. How easily do you cry? In what situations?

Hardly ever cry. Ever since having children, movies that involve sad issues with children get me choked up. I did cry a couple of years back when my youngest son had a seizure.

13. When you are upset, what do you do to help yourself feel better?

I need time and lots of it to calm down. Leave me alone and I will be allright. If my wife angers me I donít usually want to talk, Ill just walk away and grab a beer.

14. What makes you angry? What do you do when you're angry?

Not being able to find things, being unorganized, forgetting about something I needed to do (horrible memory), kids fighting or not listening to me. I yell when I get angry. I throw things out of the way if Im looking for something. As a kid and young adult I used to punch walls , but Im over that stage in my life.

15. Do you have an emotion that predominates; such as anger, depression, irritability, anxiety, jealousy, joy...or possibly two emotions that tend to alternate predictably?

I would say irritability plays a big part in my life. I am very intolerant of other people. I get annoyed by the little things that others do. My one son sniffs (we are trying to fix this) and all the remedies we try donít work. All I can think about and hear is him sniffing and it drives me nuts. I either tell him to blow his nose, stop sniffing or I have to leave the room to save my sanity. My wife will put the hand soap away when I want it left out and that annoyes the heck out of me yet Im a slob and do a million things that would annoy others.

16. What fears do you have?

Fear of not living a long life. I feel I will succumb to a terminal illness at a young age and leave the family without a dad.

17. What have been the most difficult circumstances in your life? How did you cope?

My grandfather died when I was 14yrs old. I was supposed to cut his lawn and like a typical kid I didnít want to go over but rather play with my friends. He cut the lawn himself and didnít feel very well after that happened. They took him to the hospital and found out he was in the later stages of cancer. He never came home from the hospital. To this day I blame myself for his death even though the lawn cutting did not cause his death (Im almost crying now so there goes the I never cry statement). When I was 18 my Grandmother gave me my grandfathers wedding band as I was the youngest grandson and we were close. I was absolutely blown away by this gesture. I wore it all the time. Two years later I was kayaking and went backwards over a rocky ledge. I tried to hold on to a rock and the ring popped off and was lost. I still think of this moment to this day and hate myself for this. Only my wife knows about this.

Another traumatizing event was when my son was 1.5 yrs and he had a febral seizure for the first time. I was so scared that my son was dying in m y arms. It took me 6 months to stop thinking about it daily.

18. What are the greatest joys you have had in
your life?

The birth of my sons.

19. What was your childhood like?

It was pretty good. My father was strict but a good friend. He was a hands on dad and took me around to all my sports, he would wake up and come and find me on cold winter mornings to help me finish delivering my newpapers. Always wanting me to have the best of everything and strive to be the best. My mother had some mental issues and I remember her crying a lot about me and my sisters dirty bedrooms. She is and was very self centered. When I hit my teenage years me and my father quit getting along. I wanted my freedom and he wanted to control me. We fought a lot and I moved out right after highschool.

20. What bothers you most in other people? How,
if at all, do you express it?

Their stupidity and unableness to fix problems. I jump in and come up with a plan and take control of the situation. I try not to show my displeasure but sometimes it comes through.

21. What causes the most problems in your relationships?

Honeslty donít have many problems in relationships. My wife and I get along amazingly, my kids and I get along great 98% of the time, Ive had one fight with my mom in 15 yrs, my dad is a great friend (although he still annoys me) and my sister whom I fought with a lot as a child we have not had even a disagreement in15 Ė 20 yrs. My inlaws are quite annoying to me but we never fight.

22. Do you have any recurring dreams? What are they about?

I donít remember a lot of my dreams, I dream of fishing a lot, Im assuming its because I love to go fishing.

23. What would you need to feel happy?

Thatís a hard question. I am pretty happy now. I guess I strive for perfection, but I do realize it will never come.

24. What do you do for work? Ideally, what would
you like to do?

I have a corporate sales job regarding clearing goods entering and leaving my country. I would like to help others somehow (homeopathy is becoming a great passion for me), maybe be a pro fisherman, a porn star, or a hockey dad.

25. If you were made President for a day, what would you change?

I would work to bring accountability to drug companies, government agencies and other corrupt groups in the health care industry. I am very sick of the lies that we are being forced to swallow in reargs to our health.

26. When people have criticized you, what were they complaining about? Similarly, when people have praised you, what did you receive praise for?

I feel I know everything and donít always listen. I can come off as condescending at times. Im very forgetfull and unorganized. I am always shying away from large groups example Company Christmas parties. I donít ask for help.

I am praised because I am caring and want to help people. I fix problems and take charge. I am determined and cant be diverted when I have my mind to doing something. I donít screw around example I want to build a shed I go and buy the wood, start building it and only quit when the sun goes down. I wont stop till the job is finished. I am self sufficient.

27. What would you like to change most about
yourself?

I wish I didnít get so stressed out and could let things fall off my back easily. I wish I could stay determined at my job like I do with things I really enjoy (even though I like my job)

FOOD

28. How do you feel before, during and after
meals? How do you feel if you go without a
meal?

I used to shake if I missed a meal and couldnít function. Now as I age this does not happen. Before meals I am just hungry, during meals I eat very fast, and after meals I feel satisfied. Sometimes after a huge dinner I like to lay down for 5 minutes to relax. No real pains after meals.

29. What would you most like to eat (if you did
not have to consider calories, fat, anything
you've read about the right way to eat)?

Pizza, spaghetti, beef jerkey, GOOD steak with potatoes, lots of salad, warm apple crisp with ice cream

30. What foods do you dislike and refuse to eat?

Liver, no way. My mom made me eat that as a kid. I absolutely refuse to allow it come near me.

What foods do you react badly to, and in what
way?

Liver, I used to kick and scream.

31. How much do you drink in a day? Include
sodas, juice, coffee, tea, milk, and
alcoholic beverages as well as water. How
thirsty do you tend to get? What temperature would you like your drinks to be?

I drink a large deccafinnated coffee in the morning. Sodas only on rare occasion or maybe if I have a headache I like orange juice Ė few cups per week. 8 Ė 10 glasses of purified water per day. Milk I used to drink a ton of milk growing up maybe 10 glasses per day. Now I still very much enjoy milk but limit two 1 or 2 glasses per day. During the work week 1 or 2 beers per night. On a weekend if friends or family over it will be more. Drinks must be cold, as cold as they can be, nothing better than getting up in the middle of the night and going to the water cooler for an ice cold drink.

SLEEP
32. How is your sleep?

I sleep pretty well.

33. Do you do anything during sleep? (speak,
laugh, shriek, toss about, grind your teeth, drool, snore, walk, talk, etc.)

My wife says I snore a lot. All I feel is her kicking me to be quiet. I guess I believe her. Sometimes I find myself jolting as I first fall asleep.

34. Do you have trouble falling asleep? What keeps you awake? Do you wake always at a certain time? What causes you to wake up? What position do you sleep in?

I used to have troubles falling asleep in my early and mid twenties. I would lie awake for hours thinking about things to do the next day or trying to solve problems in my head. My mind would never quit. A couple of years ago I got a SRT pendant that is supposed to strengthen resistance to stress and Electromagnetic Frequencies and ever since my sleeping problems went away, from the first night I started wearing it. Now I fall asleep immediately.

I sleep on my back with my arms above my head. Sometimes I roll to my sides. I wake up at 8:00am on weekends but probably because my kids are waking me up. During the week my alarm goes off at 7:00am and I hate hearing it go off.

48. Family history: Mention diseases, causes
and ages of deaths of father, mother,
sisters, brothers and grandparents on both
sides.

Grandafther (mothers side)died of cancer at age 74. He also had diabetes and Parkinsons. His wife is still in decent health at 91, no diseases. Still walks distances daily. My fathers parents are both still alive and are in good health although I donít talk with them much. My mother has fibromayalsia, arthritis, migraines. disappointment, etc.) Mention the symptoms
experienced at those moments or which you
can date to those traumas.

My mother took absolutely no medicines or supplements or Tylenol while she was pregnant with me. Easy labour, easy going baby. I was a going concern as a kid and kept my parents very tired by chasing me around the house. I received stitches every year for the first 8 years of life. Climbing and jumping into onto things. I didnít like to be alone, always was bored and wanted a friend to play with. My mother got in a car accident when I was 12 or so. She was in hospital for a few months. We thought she might die. She was in pain for many years after that and it was hard on the family. Started hating my father at 13 or 14 and we fought all the time until I left at 18. My grandfather passed at age 14, very upsetting. Had a dog pass away near this time as well that I loved dearly. Nothing more I can think of.

I donít like it, leave me alone.

54. What part of your life do you have the most difficulty coping with.

Not being able to fix my sons minor health issues. Getting a sense of calm in my home life.

55. What are your hobbies?

I am obsessed with fishing and could do it every day. I play hockey as well. My kids sports and interests are also my hobbies as well.

The normal semen volume is 2-6 cc range. In addition, with the onset of sexual stimulation specialized glands in the urethra called Cowper glands, produce a clear liquid, slightly sticky to lubricate the urethra. this is called pre-ejaculate. Normally, semen is somewhat viscous, opalescent and whitish gray. A yellow tinge in semen, as you've probably noticed, is very common, and a variation of normal. If you take a multivitamin, it may be a reason.
